When does school start back where you live??

September 5

Last year we started before Labor Day, it was the first time I could ever recall starting so early. I guess most people didn't like it since we are going back after Labor Day this year. :cool1:

Our kids are still in school here until Friday...

They go back September 7th.

Elementary starts--July 20th--Middle and high school August 15 or so.

The elementary and pre schools here go year round- 9 weeks on 3 weeks off so I think our first break is the end Sept something- guess I should find out!! they got out this year June 1. We really like it of course thats what I grew up doing. Only problem time is when 1 is in middle or high school and other siblings are in elem.

New law in Michigan says all public schools have to start after labor day. Mine go back the Tuesday after.

 my only child... my baby... is starting Kindergarten on Aug. 23!!!!

There has been talk of year round here. I would like that schedule but many of the parents do not and they seem to get their way!! I would love the 9 on 3 off ....that would make nice vacation time!!

By the way.....Our last day was May 24th.

Last day was June 7th and we go back on August 30th. I think I'll be ready for them to go back by then! :lmao:

Not out until next week and go back day after labour day.

We just got out today :woohoo: and return the day after Labor Day. We teachers have 4 Professional Development days the week before school begins again.
:teacher:

We get out in two days and go back Sept. 7th

With free dining I'm not so sure the crowds will be low. I'm many families that start school at Labor Day will head down toward the end of August to take advantage of value rates and free dining.

On the other hand, families from the south may head down mid-late September for the same reasons. Their kids would have been in school long enough to have adjusted to the new routines. (Maybe 4-6 weeks?) By pulling kids out during that period they get a visit during value season and get in on free dining.

Eh..I'm not worried about that at all. We've been at WDW the third week of September for the past four years, during the days of 40% off room rate codes, Fairytale Seven Nights For The Price Of Three promotion, and last years' free dining... and trust me, compared to June-August, it's a no-man's land.

I just wanted to avoid full-on summer crowds.

Our kids go back August 23 and are out May 31 next spring. People complain about going back before labor day, but I prefer getting out early for summer!

Our district after 10 years has finally seen the light and heard enough complaints I guess. We are going to a modified traditional. We are out June 28 and back on Aug 28. WOOHOOO. I can't wait. :cool1:

We were out May 24th and go back August 23rd. Then pulling DD out (fearing flack) for trip 9/15!

She will have 2 and 1/2 weeks under her belt and it is review time! Practicing for the principal!

We are not even out yet  But we go back after labor day too. :thumbsup2

Us too...but Wednesday is the last day. Highschool has had exams only for the last week but middle school has had school. They had 1/2 days all week though.

We also go back the day after Labor Day.
