When does school start again in the South?

I know this is hard since everyone is either just getting out, or got out earlier, but...
When do schools in the South go back to school this fall?

On or after Aug. 25 in North Carolina, mandated by state law. We have an extra almost three weeks of summer this year as we switch to the later start.

Here in hot and humid Miss we go back on August 9th like most of the south. I think some places in florida dont go back until second week of august though.

Here in NC it is now law you can not start before Aug. 25. It starts with this coming school year. So, that is the start date.

In SC DD starts back Aug 5th. Her last day was today!

My kids go back Aug. 22 in N. Central Texas

Pensacola {Escambia County} goes back Aug. 2!!! Too early for me. ONly good thing about that is our fall break is the first week of October. MNSSHP here we come!!!!
