When does school let out in your area?

We're going to WDW June 7-14. I've heard that some schools don't let out until mid June so I'm hoping we'll avoid at least the full summer crowds. To ease my mind a bit I thought I'd ask -
when does school end for the summer in your area?

In VT most of the schools let out by June 13. My son's last day is June 11.

Most schools in Alabama get out around the end of May. My last day is May 23 (I'm a teacher) and our kids get out the 21st.

Many schools in NC will dismiss before end of May. Our kids will finish 5/23. Our dates are about the same as the OP's. We too are hoping that other schools are a bit later.

Guyzmom-- I'm in Plano, too! In addition, I hear that for 2004-2005, we are returning to a FULL WEEK of fall break in September. I hate that this year's fall break is over Columbus Day == although it does allow us to go to MNSSHP!

Luckily, I'm not a slave to the school calendar quite yet! My twins will start kindergarten in 2004.

In 2000 we left the day after school let out. June 1. We left for Disney June 2. For some reason the parks were full. Memorial Day was very late that year and I think people took extended vacations with Memorial Day.

With Memorial Day being earlier maybe the crowds won't be bad.

We always take vacations when school lets out, cause we are all sick of our hectic schedules. It is a good way to start summer. But I think a lot of people are like that.

Reading from the posts lately, the crowds have been down since Easter Week. Good luck. I was there over Easter and I will never go again during that busy time. Epcot and MGM were okay and so was Animal Kingdom, but plan for a few more days at Magic Kingdom the most crowded park.

Last day for students in our district (Grapevine-Colleyville in Texas) is May 23. I'm an administrator so basically I work most of June; however, I'm taking 8 personal days to visit the World and go on the Wonder with my son.

Since I have 2 days of staff development next week, I only have 8 days with students. I'm both excited and sad. This has been a great school year. The students who were in kindergarten when I started this job are fifth graders this year and will leave us to go to middle school.

I love my job, but I am counting the days. We are finally in the teens.

For some schools Friday was the last day, but most of the PS are letting out may 23. DNi (and others in S GA )I think gets out the 16

May 23 is the last day here, I have been to Disney 3 times in the first week of June and find the crowds to be way better than August. I will say I never experienced fast pass, but I have found the lines on the rides much better than August. The only time I found the crowds smaller is the week of Thanksgiving.
