When does Pandora open?

i'm hoping maybe I missed an announcement or something. I know it's supposed to open next year, but does anyone have any idea when?

I would place good money on it not being open for my potential April 2017 trip.

I am sure Disney is targeting early summer 2017, but we've seen how that "hope" worked out with Frozen and Rivers of Light.

YUP.
You will know when it is open.
Note the quotes on the year.
No promises....(even when Disney is talkin')...

Example:
Rivers of Light didn't get cancelled until what, a day or so within announced/promised opening date .........
Still not open. Talk is cheap.

BEST ADVICE:
Plan no Disney trip around something! Plan for what is there now and hope for pixie dust.

PS - Permits are filed for Avatarland as far out as December 2018.

We were there for the "AP Preview" event.

According to my WDI source, things are progressing on schedule, and there is good reason to believe most of Pandora will be open to guests by the park's anniversary date next spring. There is also, I'm told, a distinct possibility that one of the two attractions will open later than the rest of the area. (How much later? No hints. Which one? I can't say definitively.)

You can look through the gate outside Tiffin's, they're moving along but they still have a lot of work to do.

I remember that AP preview on Everest...and then later on you couldn't tell there was even a Yeti in there until they put in the strobe light.

Things are on schedule. Look for mid 2017, and James Cameron is coming to the D23 event I think we get an opening date then.

I also suggest you follow the rumors and news board for more info on this project. I post aerial photo updates, opening date rumors and other such things there.

From sources I know of people are underestimating this land and it's going to be amazing, better than carsland.

I guess my point is I don't think it matters. No one should be planning a trip around Pandora opening (even if there was an opening date announced). The only thing is plan it late in 2017 and hope it is open by your trip.

While I would love Pandora to be open, I am not planning on it (and pretty much planning to skip AK all together). If somehow it DID open before April 2017 I would have to change my plans! Heh.
