When does Mousekeeping clean your room?

We will be taking a daily break from the parks. Maybe from 2-5 everyday. I really don't want them cleaning our room during this time. Is there a normal time when they clean? Can I request that they don't come midday?

If you are out in the parks early in the morning, your room is usually done early. I'm not always an early riser, so I usually miss the first pass and end up with a late afternoon clean. It seems like they do early risers first, then check outs, then late risers. You can always press Housekeeping on your room phone as you are getting ready to leave each morning and request an early clean. They would probably be happy to know that your room is ready to be done.

i'd say probably anywhere between 11 and 3 (check-out and check-in times). i think maybe once i've gone back to my hotel room around 2:30 and it had not yet been visited.

the simple thing to do is just stick the do not disturb tag in your door lock. it should be fine for a day. if you're planning on not wanting it longer than a day, you should probably dial housekeeping from your room and request it as i've heard that if they do come by and there's a do not disturb sign, they will come back at least once more throughout the day to check, so it's just a matter of courtesy.

typically speaking, if they can't get into your resort room to clean, they should provide you with a bag including fresh towels (hung on your door).

there are additional locks on your door while you're in your room so it cannot be physically opened even when someone uses a key. so with all that, there's no need to be concerned about being 'disturbed'

Well, the Mousekeepers work until 4:30 or so, and they would probably try to get the check-outs done first, so I'd probably say you would either get service really early or really late unless you request a certain time.

Anytime from really early until mid-afternoon.

If you get back and the room isn't done yet, you can certainly put up your sign at that time and they won't bother you.

We always seem to get rooms that don't get cleaned til late afternoon. I then call housekeeping and request an early cleaning. They have always accomadated us.

I've never had a problem with housekeeping at WL cleaning my room when I'm actually at the resort. Every day cleaning was done when I was out of the room in the parks. I usually got out of the room around 8.

PS: If you wake up later you can always give them a call from your room's telephone.

We always call housekeeping when we are leaving the room in the morning and ask if they can do our room before noon, or 1, or whatever. They have always come through for us.

last yr housekeeping knocked on our door around 8, I told them we were getting ready to leave and would leave shortly. they then came back and knocked at 8:30 we were just about to leave, so they went in right after we left. This happened a few times. I never went back to my room in the early afternoon to find it not done.

I thought they always try to 1st clean rooms of guests who are checking out that day? Doesn't that make more sense because this way who ever will be checking in that room later on would not have a longer wait if the room is not cleaned until later on in the day.

i think they just go down the line and handle rooms as they can and then double-back for any they couldn't do the first time. if they start at 11 or so, anyone who was meant to be checked out is gone.

That maybe true but there is always a chance some guests could have requsted a later check out which effects the housekeepers because they could not clean the room until later on in the day.

yes and these are known ahead of time (certainly by 11). housekeepers are limited to how many late checkout rooms they can take. once they hit the limit, any requests for late checkouts get denied.

Oh I did not know about that. Thanks for posting it and I just learned something new about WDW.

We always call the front desk or housekeeping and request early service. Usually just one call for the entire stay is enough.

Some of the people checking out don't leave their rooms until 11am, right at the last minute. However, people wanting to be at the parks when they open may be out at 7am. I'm sure they knock on any door without a do not disturb sign.

That has been our experience as well. I think they appreciate knowing who will be out early so they can get to those rooms early. Then they can do the rooms of folks who are checking out, etc.

I think that I will just request early cleaning when I check in. The 2 days that we may sleep in, I will just put out the do not disturb. Do you think this will work?

We were really surprised that they knocked at our door before 9:00 in the morning one day at AKL. We should have told them to come back later as we were getting a late start that day (on purpose), but took clean towels and told them they did not have to come back.

Good to know this information!! Our kids both nap, so we also will back in the room from 2-5 or so. I'll just request a before-noon cleaning if possible and leave the DND sign on in the AM until we're ready to go (should be early) and put it right back on when we get back for naps!
