when does magical beginnings end?

Magical Beginnings has been around for years, so I don't know that anyone can predict when it might end. DVC could always change the buyback rate (currently $10 per point), but again who knows when/if that might happen.

Of greater concern should be the possibility that the base price for points would rise. It's been set at $95 since April '04, so I think you can anticipate an increase within the next 2-3 months, particularly as SSR begins opening new buildings in the Spring. I think it's almost a given that points will go up to $99 very soon, with the $10 MB still likely to be offered.

I also want to mention that the current promotions being offered on SSR points are a little different than the standard Magical Beginnings. Normally under MB you would get the $10 pp credit, but you would still be responsible for paying the annual maintenance fees associated with the points you are selling back to DVC. With fees running about $4 per point, you are really only netting $6 savings.

However, the deal they have been running on SSR was a $10 credit NET of any maintenance. You don't start paying MF until you actually get your first set of points in mid-to-late 2005.

There were rumors that this particular promotion would be ending very early in January. To maximize your savings, you might want to speak to DVC very soon and see what they can tell you.
