When does Haunted Mansion actually close in January?

All I can find is "second or third week".

I'm trying to plan out a trip and wondering, historically, what date it actually closes to remove the Jack overlay.

I.e. Sunday is the 10th, what are the chances it'd be open on the 8, 10th or 11th?

Thanks!

Historically it has closed the day after the last day of the holidays, which is Jan 6th this year. But last year it stayed open through the weekend and closed on the Monday. There's a chance it could be open on the 8th or 10th, but I wouldn't count on it, as last year may have been an anomaly.

Gives me hope it might be open that Friday. Thank you. If assume small world would be on the same rough schedule

No actually Small World seems to close later in January. This year the ride was open during the Star wars half marathon weekend (17th and 18th) though they did start taking down the lights on the outside while we were there, the ride was still running and had the Christmas overlay on. It was also open the two prior years during the Tink Half marathon weekend which used to take place that same weekend, and the lights were still on the outside those times.

This past January Haunted Mansion Holiday stayed open through Sunday, January 11th, and then closed for overlay removal. I think it was because Frozen Fun officially debuted on January 7th, and Disney probably expected a lot of extra people flooding the parks. Also, some Southern California students didn't go back to school until 1/12.

This coming January I have a feeling HMH might stay open through Sunday, 1/10, and be closed by 1/11. Aladdin's final performance is on 1/10. Supposedly the Big Thunder Ranch and BBQ will be closing for good after 1/10. There is a chance (though no confirmation yet) that the Season of the Force event (with Hyperspace Mountain) could begin right after the holidays end on 1/6. So I tend to think that Disney may want to leave HMH up through that weekend. It will be closed for roughly 2 weeks, assuming that no further refurbishments and maintenance are needed beyond the overlay removal.

It's a Small World Holiday -- if it follows tradition -- should be open through January 24th or so, and then probably close on January 25th for its own overlay removal.

How long does IASW stay closed for overlay removal?

Also about 2 weeks-ish, give or take a few days. I think that sometimes the overlay has been removed in less than 2 weeks, but other times it seemed to take a bit longer. I would say at least a good, solid 10 days, but probably longer. And then if there is any sort of work that has to be done on it beyond the overlay removal, it will stay down even longer.

They don't usually close both rides at the same time. Typically Haunted Mansion goes down first, shortly after the holidays end. Then when it comes back up Small World will go down. Sometimes it seems they do general maintenance on Small World and it stays down for longer than 2 weeks.

Fingers crossed. I hope it all works out that way!
