When does Happiest Celebration end?

So what do you think I will see in December besides the normal holiday decorations and lights? We have never been there during the holiday season and I am excited about that to start with. Will there be any "bonuses" that coincide with the 35 year celebration by then? or just the classic castle and holiday decor?

Personally I prefer the classic castle. It just takes me to that magical place inside when I see it that way. I am not real fond of the theme's they put the castle through. We are dragging along a couple of friends for their first time and I think the classic look might work best for us. But I really have no say in that now do I. I'll be happy to be there no matter what. How can you not be? :confused3

I've always found the "Disneyland (CA) is turning 50, so therefore WE'RE (FL) throwing the biggest celebration ever" thing to be such a stretch. It's like they are looking for any excuse to celebrate- even the birthday of a park thousands of miles away. It's like the younger (but bigger) sibling trying to steal the spotlight from the big sister. Let Disneyland have the glory.

I can't believe this year is WDW's 35th. We still have shirts, cups, etc. from the 25th. I was born the same year as WDW and on the same day the Roy Disney died. I hope they bring back the great "Remember the Magic" theme someday....

Hmm.. we leave Sept 30 and will be there til Oct 6. I am really hoping they do not have the castle unders construction the whole time we are there..lol I really do not want to see things up around it the whol time. :(

I am all for a new celebration though. Always fun!

We are going around the same time. I guess I just assumed that they would do it over night. :rotfl: Oops. I also hope that it is not under construction. I also agree that the celebration was a stretch. Especially if they are going to go straight into WDW's 35th. That is crazy. I would love to see the castle back to normal!

I have read the celebration ends 30th of September - that is the date on every other website I look at including the official. I, too, am disapointed as we are arriving Oct 1st. Guess it is inevitable we will see construction work.
Someone mentioned the next celebration starting Oct 1st. Seems impossible to me, then again disney does work magic!!!

I just hope that they don't put that cake on the castle again. I HATED that!

I also like the Castle au natural. It reminds me of when I went as a kid.

Last time were there in 1997 it was DH's first time ever. He was very disappointed in the Cake Castle. It just wasn't how he had grown up seeing it.

I hope for our December trip it is looking more "classic".

No one knows for sure. They may either keep it, bring back the last show Cinderella's Surprise Celebration, or something else. I wouldn't mind seeing CSC again. I loved that show (I do like Cinderellabration too, however).

Cinderella's Surprise Celebration is coming back after the last showing of Cinderellabration...

Epcot is having a birthday (would it be 30 yrs?) in '07... I would imagine they'll have something in store for that...

I don't know what else will be going on then but I can safely say that it will be hard for us to ever visit WDW at ANY other time other than the Holidays now that we've done them. It's just the most magical experience. I don't think there is anything "normal" about Christmas decor and lights the way WDW does them. I personally LOVE MVMCP and can't recommend it enough! GO!!! We're going twice this coming trip! :wizard: ENJOY!

So now that we know that themes will, likely, be changing, does anyone have an idea of how long WDW takes to change the castle over to the new theme. I understand that it may not change at all ... the castle, I mean ... but if it does, would it probaby be done by early December? Just some random additional thoughts ... my DSis went for the 25th, and although she thought it was fun to be there for the celebration, she really didn't like the "cake" castle much, either. I also agree with the poster that suggested revisiting the Remember the Magic theme. Do you remember the commercials from that time? Made me cry every time!!! One last thought: Did anyone love Tapestry of Dreams as much as I did. I loved the music!

Soarin' is a permanent addition.

Our wedding is 10/28/06 at WDW and our MK photos are 10/31/06 and we were told the castle decorations would still be up for our photo shoot. Of course that is subject to change :)

They are pushing the Happiest Celebration merchandise big time right now. I'm sure they are trying to unload a lot of it before the celebration ends. After that, I guarantee they will come up with something. They never miss an opportunity to push merchandise.

That is great to know. Hopefully we wont have those green fences surrounding the castle then for our trip first week in Oct
Thanks

Yup, that's why the Happiest Celebration is ending early.

Yeah, it looks like the Happiest Celebration is ending September 30.
