When Does Disneyland *Really* Open?

Hi,

I'll be going to DL for the first time next Thursday just for the day. Does anyone know when the park *really* opens? I know you can check the official opening times on disneyland.com, but when I was at WDW a few years ago (and staying at a WDW on-site hotel) it seems that the parks open and the rides start way before they are scheduled to.

I'll just be going to the park for the day and I really want to explore as much as I can of Disneyland and California Adventure in one day, and I know it's going to be tough so I'm looking for all the help I can get.

Does anyone know when the Carnation restaurant opens on Main Street and when the rides open up for non-hotel guests?

Thursday is an Early Entry day for those who have that benefit. So the park will open at 7 am for EE. The park "officially opens" at 8 am for regular visitors.

Unless you're staying at one of the DL hotels or have a ticket for early entry you'll have to wait until the official opening which I believe is 8:00.
