I am still working to lock down the days we want to go in 2022. Either the last week of August or the first week of September. Once I buy a package the price will be locked in right? What time of year do they usually start raising the prices on the hotels or packages?

Usually it is Feb and Aug. Yes you will be locked in if you buy a package. Hotel and packages vary there is not set date. Prices can change all the time for hotels.

When does Disney raise their prices? Constantly!

With date-based ticketing, they quietly raise ticket prices and it rarely gets noticed.

Rack rates for hotel rooms go up without advance notice. You won't even know they went up unless your put a trip in your online cart without checking out and days later it costs more money than it originally cost.

Genie+ is going to have an introductory price of $15 per person per day. They can (and will) raise it with no notice.

IA$ (the system to pay to skip the line at a single, select attraction) will have dynamic pricing which could actually fluctuate throughout the day based on demand.

Food prices are notorious for going up in price overnight.

The good news is that once you book a package. Disney will not change the price on you. The bad news is that if a discount comes out, any change you make in order to apply the discount will also subject you to any price hikes that occurred in the interim.

There is no set schedule when Disney raises prices. Until you book your hotel, there is no guarantee the price won't go up.

Yes, reserving a package will lock in the price - assuming you make no changes (apply a discount, add/remove days, etc.). Similarly a room-only reservation also locks in resort prices. Buying a stand-alone ticket locks in as well, and if purchased from an authorized reseller will likely include a bit of discount.
