When does disney cruise to hawaii?

Watch for the sales on Princess for discounted cruises to Hawaii. We are doing the roundtrip Hawaii cruise from San Francisco in January. It takes 5 days to get to Hilo, HI.

Well that's a disappointment that disneys not doing hawaii cruises. So then which cruise liner do you guys think is the best one to take to hawaii? Which one has the best stuff for kids to do. We have a 10 year old boy. Well he will be 11 when we want to go in 2017.

Princess median age is 65 years old and though they have very nice kids clubs, I would check with RCCL or NCL as priority options first. Then check out Princess options as a third choice. Just a thought.

Celebrity also offers repositioning cruises that start or stop in Honolulu. In the Spring (usually April), the Celebrity Solstice repositions from Australia to Alaska and offers cruises from Australia-to-Honolulu and then Honolulu-to-Vancouver. Then, in the Fall (usually starting in September), the Solstice offers similar itineraries in reverse.

The round trip Princess itineraries between the U.S. West Coast and Hawaii are usually 15 days in length and always include a port stop at Ensenada Mexico. This foreign port is required because the Princess ships are not U.S flagged ships.

If you're shopping for a Hawaiian cruise make sure the itinerary includes a night time sail past the active volcanoes. The lava glows in the dark and is spectacular.

Also the itinerary should sail past the NaPali coastline of Kauai which is accessible only by sea or air.

Unfortunately the DCL cruises didn't include either of the above. The round trip Hawaiian cruises were in Oahu on Sunday, when the Polynesian Cultural Center is closed.

Just food for thought.

So happy we did the first round trip Hawaii trip with DCL. The one way would not have enticed me.

It wouldn't surprise me if one of the new ships has a home in Asia to complement Shanghai Disney, Hong Kong Disney, and Tokyo Disney. They can sail Asia and transition back to west coast with a stop and maybe a few Hawaii sailings between them.

Friends of ours cruised round trip from Vancouver to Hawaii and back last year (around the same time DCL was doing it's one-way Hawaii cruise) on Princess and they did NOT enjoy it. They took all 5(!) of their kids, ranging in age from 5-17 - the younger ones were bored in the kids clubs and the older ones were bored on the ship. They did some nice excursions which everyone loved apparently but as for the cruise itself, they were not impressed. On the return portion several guests also came down with Noro (which I know happens on all cruise lines, just saying).
