When does an Annual Pass Start? at Purchase? or first day of use??

Any help will be appreciated!!TY!

It depends on how you purchase them. For example, we are DVC members. We purchased our annual passes earlier in the year (before the prices went up) and were sent exchange vouchers to trade in. We then traded them in at the theme park ticket window on the first day of our last trip (9.20.08) and they say on the back that they are good through 9.20.09. To me, that seems like 366 days, but I'll take it. :)

Hope that helps.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe on the date of first use.

I'm sure someone will come along who knows more than me...lol! :rotfl:

You can also buy them at the Disney store.

You get a voucher and then exchange it at any Guest Services window. Voucher does not expire. When you exchange it for an AP ticket, it is good for 1 year from that date (366 days). Keep voucher and receipt in different places so you can have the receipt as proof of purchase incase it gets lost. I have my mom's receipts and she has mine.

I bought a voucher last week, I will exchange it for a ticket on 2/27/2010, AP will expire 2/27/2011.

So if I buy an AP today I can use it 2or 3 years down the road??

If you buy the AP voucher, technically you can turn it into a pass in a few years.

Next Question! Where does one get an AP voucher from??

1. Disney Store - I have to check to see if there any left in my area

Where else?

to answer the PP question of where else:) can I buy a AP voucher

Online from the WDW online Ticket store

Depending on where you are, some AAA offices sell them at a discount. Well, you get the voucher that you can hold onto until you are ready to turn it in.

I'm not understanding the time issue, but AP's can also be bought on line.

And seriously, it doesn't take any longer to buy them at the gate than it is to pick them up. Maybe a few extra minutes. But we are FL residents, so they have to go and verify everything.

Not sure why one would buy an AP and not use it for several years. The savings isn't significant enough over price increases to freeze that amount of money in a non-sellable, non-refundable asset.

If you purchase an AP by mail, by phone, online, at The Disney Store, or at AAA all you get is a voucher or exchange certificate.

The date that you exchange the voucher for an actual AP, or the date you buy the AP at a WDW ticket window or Guest Relations Office, is the effective/start date of the AP. The AP will then be valid though close of business the same date the next year.
