When does all the Christmas decorations go up?

I am trying to narrow down some good times to go back and we want to see the decorations, but don't want to go over Christmas. I read that the first 2 or 3 weeks in December are very slow.. is this true? and if so will we see the decorations if we go then?

We have been there within the first three weeks of December in 2004 and 2003. Yes, it is a slow time of year, but weekends do tend to be a little on the crowded side. I believe the decorations go up immediatley after Thanksgiving, but I am not positive. They are definetley up by Dec 1st though. It is a great time to go, but the weather is hit or miss..... pack for any type of weather. Have fun deciding when to go

We went early December last year, and the crowds were minimal.
Wait times were about 5 minutes for each ride, if that. However MVMCP was very crowded. And by Friday the wait times were about 30 minutes long. Which is about 25 minutes too long for me and my 3 kids! The decorations were beautiful. What's really fun is going around to all the hotels to see the different decorations.

Right after the Thankgsiving weekend. I always go first week of Dec, this year arrived on the Monday after Thanksgiving and was worried that it would be busy - NOT! it was totally empty ie nobody had stayed after the Thanksgiving weekend to extend their trip.

It was actually quieter that week than the 1st full week in December; several posters also commented on how busy that week was in Dec 2004 vs previous years.

I went the week before Thanksgiving last year and the decorations were already up.

We went Sat after Thanksgiving and they were up. Also the lines were not so bad. We went for that week.
