When do your DDP credits become "extinct"

We have booked an 8 night, 9 day package for September with the DDP. Since we are driving to WDW and since we'll have park hoppers for that 9th day, we decided to check out early from our hotel and bum around a bit before getting on the road. My question is this: when will my DDP credits expire? Do they expire at midnight on the 8th night; upon checkout; at midnight on the 9th night; or at some other point?? Thanks so much!

I was going to start my own thread, but thought I'd just add on and see if I get an answer...

When do the credit become active? If we ck-in at 12p (even though our room may not be ready) will we have credits for lunch and dinner, or just 1 meal and a snack?? Also, can you use the credits however you want throughout the stay? If I want to use 2 CS and a TS in 1 day, can I do that?

Okay, here goes. Your DDP credits become active upon checkin (when you get your KTTW); however, when you calculate the cost and number of credits you need to only account for the nights that you are there. So, for my family of 3 for our 9 day/8 night trip, we will have 24 credits of each TS, CS, and snack. And, yes, you can use your credits however you wish - you can use them all the first day if you want or you can save them until the end. Hope this helps (I'm hoping that one day I'll have all of the answers).

Exactly. Or, an alternate way to look at it would be this: 8 adult table service credits; 4 child table service credits; 12 counter service credits; and 12 snacks. Since counter service and snacks are pooled, that might help with your calcuations.

I have a quick question! Say you forget how many you used or have left can the card just be swiped to say what you have remainng? We are in POP from April 10-20'th but only have an 8 day Parkhopper plus with DDP...that entitles us each to 8 snacks, 8 CS and 8 TS is that correct? We can use them anytime throughout our stay even when we are not in a park? Your DDP is in conjuction with your park tickets ...is that right?

No the DDP is tied in with the number of nights that you are staying. If you buy the DDP for your entire stay (April 10-April 20) you will have to buy 10 days of the DDP at $37.99/night.

You can use the DDP either at a park or any of the participating restaurants at the different Disney Resorts.

If you wanted the plan for fewer days, you can always check out and check in again. However, your credits will expire at midnight on the day that you check out from the dining plan stay.

That means that I have more than I thought!! I thought (such a rookie at this) that I had 8 days in the park and therefore 8 days of dinng. This is wonderful news to me!!!
