When do you use the most DVC points? In other words, what time of year do you most often use your points. I know that some times require more points...

i like to go when everyone else is in school. nov/dec but avoiding the holiday breaks.

I do my main week the 1st week of June, that's when most S. Fla schools let out. That 1st week of June the big heat isn't here yet, most other schools are still in session and the parks are slow! Then I do a long week-end in Aug & Oct. when unfortunately it's busier than I would like!

I really would prefer to go during the lower and cooler times of the year. But with my kids in school, we have to give into their breaks which means the dreaded summer! lol. We are going to try their midwinter break in feb this year. i really think that we will love it!

We prefer Spring Break (especially if it is not at Easter). Next year we will be there in April and October.:cool1::banana:

I would love to be able to travel during the slower season, but I'm a teacher, so am locked into my vacations! When I retire, I'm taking Disney vacations during the off-season!! :rotfl2:

We usually go to DLR three or four times a year for three or four days at a time. Our typical pattern is October for Trick or Treat at DCA, Between Christmas and NYE and Spring Break. On the poll I voted Holidays.

I said special events. We go in March, Oct (F&W and MNSVSP) as well as early December for MVMCP and the lower crowd levels. I guess I needed to be able to pick more than one option in the poll.

We usually go to WDW during the lower crowd times and lower humidity. DL we try for lower crowds, but lately we haven't found those.

we like to travel mid-January for our anniversary, October for our birthdays and F&WF and early December.

Our main trip is mid June for my birthday, then there will be a mid October trip for the Food and Wine Festival. :thumbsup2

I checked "special events" but it just always seem to be happening while we are there, I don't think about it before planning my dates, except for January with the marathon. I ahve to plan those dates. I ahve always been able to do a "special event" while there. Next month I'll be doing the F&WF and MNSSHP. Didn't plan it, didn't know it started that early but like it !

I try to go every year in Sept. I do want to go back to the world in Dec again. Maybe one day I will pull that off. I only have 75 points so I try to go in the slower time of year.

I like to go in Jan/Feb. I live in Ontario Canada. I love to getaway mid-winter, it makes winter easier to deal with. Anywhere is warmer than here in Jan/Feb.LOL
The crowd is smaller and the lines are shorter in winter. I just came back last week and oh man, I swear I will never go down there in summer ever again! It was so hot and so humit, so many people and all the lines are so long. All the good Fastpasses were gone by noon. The worst was that we were either baking in the sun or soak to the bone in t-storm, everyday, the whole trip.

We live close so we are there regularly year round. But we use our points mostly in Choice and Adventure seasons.

:upsidedow I wasn't sure what to put as our first trip to WDW was before we owned DVC. We went 9/07 during Free Dining. Our second trip was 5/09, where we ended up buying DVC, went with friends who own DVC, stayed with them on their points, during the Flower and Garden Festival. Our next trip to WDW will be 10/10 during the Food and Wine Festival, MNSSHP, as well as the Race for the Taste. I voted for special events. :thumbsup2
