When do you think the AP rates will be released for Jan & Feb?

I just called and changed my stay Jan 15-22 at POFQ from the winter rate of 30% off to the AP rate room only and saved $62. We haven't decided if we are going to do the dining plan or the TIW yet. What would you fellow disers do? It will just be me and DH this trip and we already have dining ressies for everynight. I know the dining plan would be an extra $645.72.

We do TIW, you get what you want at a discount. I think the CS at your hotel is included as well. Just what we do. We don't realy eat all the desserts or want the included drinks so the TIW fits us better plus it will be good for at least 13 months! Yes, the AP rate is just a little more than the GP but still a better rate!

I had 25% off with the GP code, I now figure that I have 32% off at AKL with the passholder rate. A savings of $115 for my four night stay. :thumbsup2 Sounds like a nice dinner somewhere for the two of us. :cool1:

It is tempting though, to do club level at GF for $300 more...;)

My luck is that the GP rate I had at Poly for January (marathon weekend + the week after) is better than the AP rate. Since I really wanted to add the dining plan, I just got off the phone from adding dining + tix to our original room rate, and we'll just save the tix. Le sigh.

Yes, but factor in the food costs that you won't have as well. Also, closer to MK, what about CL someplace else that may be less?

I wish I could factor in food costs, but we're staying CL at AKL, so that's a wash. ;)

I've always wanted to stay at GF, but then having a savannah view at AKL is really cool too. Decisions, decisions.....:)

As mentioned the discount is only up to April 16th. I checked a few dates and all discounts stop after the night of 4/16

Well, I wanted to get a better discount and switch from POR to POFQ, but all they had available at either under the AP discount was king bed rooms, which would end up being more :sad1: So, I just ended up changing my original room-only discount to a standard room at POFQ. Now I can't add the dining plan, though...so I guess I'll have to stick w/TIW.

Here are two things the CM said that I am pretty sure are wrong:
-The GP discount is better than the AP discount for POFQ
-I won't have any trouble switching over to the AP discount if I change my mind later (I told her I thought I would because of room availability under the discount, and her exact words were, "That's not going to be a problem.")

At least it's a win-win decision!

You can check daily to see if the room comes up. We did this for our 2 Woods view we booked with a 40PIN for Feb. Well, the AP discount never was out there for that or the Standard room in Feb. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm going to keep checking online. I wasn't feeling terribly comfortable with the last CM...now I'm on the phone with another one, who is a lot more helpful (or at least knows the differences between the discounts). King bed room at POFQ is about 9.60 a night more under the AP discount than a standard room at POR. So, I'm going to do that, since I really want to keep the dining option open, and I really want POFQ. We'll see what happens later.

Anyone else think these discounts are terrible? The GP discount I have for Pop and Poly in February are better than the AP rates... there goes my hope for upgrading from Garden View to Lagoon or Theme Park view at the Poly :sad1:

I think most of the deluxe rates are better, I had 25% off and now have 32% off, but unfortunately Poly went from 40% off to 32%...they must not need the bookings as badly there? :confused3

How much was the expired GP discount at Pop?

I could stay there for like $251 for four nights ($56 a night), which I think is an awesome deal, but my husband is a deluxe snob, so in order to get him to WDW, I have to compromise. :rotfl:

I think the GP discount at Pop was 25% but the AP rate only has preferred rooms available for my dates, which is still more expensive and is something I don't need. I think I'm switching to ASMu for the discount and the dining plan, but switching to the AP rate at the Poly so I can add the dining plan would be $150 extra -- not really worth in, IMO.

The rates just came out today and they don't have any standard rooms at Pop for your dates, that stinks...:sad2:

I wouldn't do the Poly change either...:)

Congrats on getting AKL CL with AP. It can be hard to book AKL CL with a discount. If you've never tried AKL CL I would stick with that. I really enjoyed it there!:thumbsup2 (I've never done GF CL though.:rolleyes1)

I called and got our POP reservation from 1/19-22 (4 nights) for $32 cheaper than the GP rate with preferred room :cool1: but then DH said why not try for a better resort  WOW! Now I'm frustrated because I can't check the rates online at work because I don't have my AP with me :sad2: so will have to check tonight! Anybody staying at a Deluxe that can chime in about a rate they got for mid-January?? It's just me and the kids this trip :dance3:
