When do you take down your Christmas decorations?

12/26! Our lights are still up outside, but that because its DH's job and right now with the snow he can't get up on the ladder. As long as I dont look at them, I dont care. ;)

Packed and away as of today! Even did extra cleaning to start the new year off on a clean note.

We celebrate the full 12 days of Christmas and take it down on the 6th - Ephiphany. Which will likely be next Saturday since we have company coming on Friday.

We still have Three Kings Day (or Epihany) and later the "octavitas", which is an excuse to continue celebrating until the Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián in Old San Juan.

So, decorations go down after Jan. 21-24.

Fought the hangover...and the remaining stuff came down yesterday. The tree was already out as it was dead. Just some lights left as DH was a bit woozy and didnt want him on the ladder. All's thats left is my village and train set. I may leave that up for a bit longer.

I'm another who waits until after Epiphany. We still light our tree through the 12 days of Christmas.
Ditto here, also.
We will keep the tree up a few days longer this year as it went up so late.
and like threeboysmom, I leave winter decorations up. I will take down green trimmed items & add hearts for Valentine's Day. the week before St Patrick's Day winter decor will go & Irish stuff up, followed by spring & Easter.

Hanging onto that tree! :goodvibes

everything came down yesterday & today. Now it's do we store them in the 2nd bedroom or the attic? So as of now, undecorated, but HUGE containers in the livingroom :)

I just finished taking down the tree and most of the inside decorations. The outside lights are still up as we had flooding this weekend and now it's snowing like crazy.

I took mine down yesterday. Ten years ago, I would have been way to hungover to manage that task on January 1st. lol.

You people are quick! I don't have the heart to take them down. Winter is so long and dark; I'd keep the lights up until April if my family wouldn't think I was a nut.

Tree is down and put away. Other decs are on the dining room table ready to pack. I would have done the outside lights if we weren't having a thunder storm in January!!

I will try and finish tomorrow or by Wed at the latest. The suitcases have to come up so we can start packing but I can't do it with the decorations in the way!! We leave for WDW in 10 days!!! WOO HOO!! :cool1: :Pinkbounc

I wait until at least the Epiphany. Of course I decorate later than most...we put our tree up on 12/22.

I do remember one year when we were remiss in getting the tree down and out to the curb for the "tree pick-up" date. I was not sure what to do with the tree. I had invited a group over for a surprise party for DH's birthday (February 5!). Since all of the decorations were off the tree, I redecorated it with streamers and balloons! :rotfl2:

Now that's original!
DD is turning 6 end of January. She would have loved that! :rotfl:

Not until Epiphany. Most likely it will be next weekend, but I don't want to!

Should of today but I was too lazy. since I am returning to work tomorrow no doubt I will be kicking myself in the butt for my laziness.

We always wait until January 6. But the mantel will stay decorated with garland and lights probably through February.
