When do you start school?

Kids go back on August 31st.
I teach college and first lecture is August 28. I feel for the other teachers on this board who, like me, have to go back earlier than their children -- particularly when most of us chose these jobs so we could be home for our children.

I started back today. The kids come on Monday. We did get out on May 26 though. This year they have added 5 more days to our school year so I am kind of dreading it.

Not soon enough...August 25th. My kids are driving me absolutely insane I am SO ready for them to go back to school. (Actually, the summer really has been fine until this week. I think it's because it is SO darned hot out that I don't even want them going outside to play, so we've been mostly in the house and they are going stir crazy).

I so hear you! I'm so ready for them to have something to do other than complain and torment each other. Yesterday we had a nasty storm hit which knocked out our power for 11 hours, flooded our basement, took down multiple trees and all they did was whine, complain and drive me insane! I am really ready for them to go back and they are too. DD starts 7th grade in a new school so I'm excited for her as well.

I love my kids but I really hate the 3 months off in a row....then again I'd hate year round so apparently I'm harder to please than I thought.

Our got out June 29th so they go back Sept 5th. I think they are ready to go back because all the friends are gone for the summer.

August 15th. The 10th grader had schedule pick-up today. Two of his 8 classes were wrong...guess that's why they do it two weeks in advance!

Well...interesting. My dd gets her schedule the DAY SCHOOL STARTS!

They go back on the 14th. Although she had her pic taken already and is in band camp. She has to be up at school at 6:45 every morning.

My college summer semester ended yesterday and my fall semester starts on August 22.

Middle school and High school Sept 5th. Elem. Sept. 6th. Didn't get out till middle of June.

I don't have kids but I am a teacher. I go back August 23 and the kids start Aug. 29.

What I would wish to get up at 6:45 for school. our school day starts at 7:00 and goes to 3:00. It makes for a really long day especially when it is so hot.

DS starts Kinder too on August 17th. DD(3rd grade) also starts that day too! Summer is just too short for me. LOVE the kids home. I wish we had year-round here, then we could go to WDW at better times!!

DD starts 7th grade tomorrow. She spent most of today at the school - she helped me with a Teacher Appreciation lunch, and then ended up staying on to decorate her new math teacher's door. He was very grateful!

My 6&7 year olds go back Sept 6th ( 2 days after we get back from Disney), I don't know which they are more excited about!
