When do you start getting excited about an upcoming trip?

It is pretty much and everyday thing. Im either on a Disney trip or planing for the next. But when i do have a trip planned it becomes real when i can make dining reservations. Then the last two weeks before the trip im sure i annoy the family by telling them how many days left.

I start serious planning and watching at one year out! I really enjoy extending the magic thinking and dreaming for a year! At about 6 months I put out the suitcase in the spare room open and dump this and that in it as I think of things and I end up with just what I need..and it is a nice reminder I am really going!! (Yep I'm a Disney dork!)

So what moment do you guys start to really get excited about your trip to Disneyland? When does it finally hit you that it’s happening?

For me it’s when I start checking the weather for Anaheim and my dates make it into the 14 day forecast. (Which they just did, January 30th through Feb 3rd)

I’m super pumped!!!

Please the weather looks great so far!!!
The moment I think, "Hey...I should plan another trip!"...which is often.

I'll be honest, our trip is still 4 months off but I'm already super excited. We've been wanting to go for so long and we've done so much research about everything, I can't stop thinking about it!

My little sister just sent me a list of the specific foods and drinks we have to try when we are there (shes literally been talking about trying a dole whip for about 2 years already and looking at this list we're going to have to spend half our trip eating just to get through this XD) and thats just ramped up the excitement all over again!

That ship sailed a long time ago. I do remember the excitement before a trip to WDW before we moved next door to WDW over 20 years ago. I kinda envy all of you.

so just to add a little story....our first trip to DLR I wasn't all that into it - my kids were 9 and 8 and I promised my DD I'd take her to Disneyland before she turned 10, we went the March before her May birthday. Back in 2012 it was a quiet park in the beginning of March - many would say this was the end of the "off season". Any ride with a wait time of more than 15 minutes was weird. I never went to Disney as a kid while every Sunday night I watched the magic on tv. I left that trip a little kid and was already planning our next visit.

Fast forward and we are on to our 6th trip - missing only 2 years. We live in Alberta, Canada so we are my no means close by and going to DLR as often as we have is odd to many.

For us it's that moment when we admit that while we 'said' we were not going to come back for X number of years, we've yet again given in and decided the L with it, we are going back. Let the jumping up and down begin.
