I'm just curious to know when you all make your reservations for your trip. The first time I went I booked my trip in oct and it was for a July trip. This time around I booked back in Nov.I like to make the deposit and then just let the trip sit till I have all the money needed to pay off the trip. My question for you all is when do you book? Is it true that some people make there reservations 3mts in advance? I have always had this fear of the rooms all being taken up or the price going up so I will always book way in advance.

I booked my upcoming September 5 trip about two weeks ago, but only because it was a spur of the moment decision and I had enough frequent flyer miles to cover the air fare :) I also had flexible dates and several resorts that would have been okay for my split stay. Much to my surprise, I got both resorts I wanted with a AAA discount and later got to apply the BUK code :yay: However, I'm working on my May 2008 trip now because I'm trying to rent DVC points for BCV, which is apparently hard to get.

I book as soon as DH agrees to go!!

I booked our November, 2004 trip in September, 2003. I booked our August, 2006 trip in February, 2006. I booked our upcoming August trip in September, 2006. I have the same fear about hotels filling up and not being able to get what I want.

Ours really depend too; our first stay at WL was planned 2 years in advance, and we booked close to a year ahead of time, if memory serves, and we'vel also booked way out when trying to get into OKW in early December. We've had our spur of the moment trips too, that were booked about 2 weeks ahead of time, thanks to Ding timing that we couldn't resist!

Usually at least 6 months out. Just makes us feel better, we can usually get exactly what we want, and then we can make the dining ressies right away. :goodvibes

Example - were heading down in August again, and before we leave, we'll make reservations for next spring, which will actually be a bit more than 6 months for us.

I like to book about a year in advance- that way I can make payments and this gives me awhile to pay my vacation off- kind of like putting a disney vacation on layaway- ha!! I am anxiously waiting for the 2008 packages to come out so I can book next year's september trip already...

When should the 2008 packages come out?

We wait until the arline fares ome out and look for non-stop flights. Then we book those first and then the rooms etc...:yay:

I booked our first one about 4 months out, but then the PS for meals was 60 days. Now I think it's easier to not worry about things it you book 6 months and can get to eat where you want.
If I go next March I'll need to book in September!
BTW my shortest window was booking end of September, 2001 for a December 6-9 trip. Airfare was only $135 after the attacks and I got a great room rate.
