Okay, I want to decorate our yard for Christmas next weekend....and my hubby thinks I am nuts. It is just SOOO much work. I want to enjoy it as much as we can.
WE leave for WDW on Dec. 30th. So we will have to take it down a couple of days before that.

So if we start putting it up on the 12th, finished around the 14th, is that too soon?
Then I was going to decorate the inside the next week, the 19th. :teeth:

I think that's too soon. I usually put ours up the day after Thanksgiving and I'm usually one of the first around here.

Ours go "up" early November, weather permitting. DH isn't crazy about climbing ladders if there is snow! However, they don't go "on" until the day after Thanksgiving. Most of our neighbors do the same. Take advantage of the nicer weather, but nothing goes on until after Turkeyday!

Usually Thanksgiving weekend, but with the weather being so nice I'm very tempted.......

after TG....usually that weekend they go up.....don't get turned on until Dec. 1

I don't think it's too soon. I like the inside of my house decorated for Thanksgiving. We wait until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate outside.

I finished putting all my outside lights up today! :cool1: I had to take advantage of the beautiful weather we are having. They won't get turned on until we get back from my Mom's Thanksgiving weekend. My other outside decorations (wreath, trees, santa, bows etc) wont' get put up until right before we leave.

Usually the day after Thanksgiving we start putting up our inside and outiside decorations.

We put ours up in mid Deecember, but someone in our neighborhood is already fully decorated, INCLUDING a cut tree in the front yard! :rolleyes1

I kind of wish we had put ours up today since the weather was so nice and warm. If it's still nice tomorrow I will put them up but not light them until Thanksgiving weekend. There is nothing worse than putting up lights in a blinding snowstorm!

I am LOVIN the idea of putting them up and not turning them on.
Usually we are the 1st people on our street to decorate, which gets "mumblings" from our neighbors hubbys as they tell my hubby..."you know all this means is now our dw are going to be nagging for us to do ours...." LOL

We usually put everything up the weekend after Thanksgiving. (outisde and inside decorations, including the tree) With the warm weather we are having right now, it wouldn't be a bad idea to put them up early, but still wait to turn them on the weekend after Thanksgiving....but I doubt my Scrooge hubby would go for it.

I'm thinking today, if it does not rain. It is so warm out, and last year, it was our 1st year in this house, we realized we didn't have enough lights to be able to do what we could. I have a yard that would make it look AWESOME if all the bushes were lit. So, if I get out here today, I can figure out what we need. We won't light up until Thanksgiving night.

Like others we try to put them up early when it is warm but we won't turn them on until after Thanksgiving weekend.

We already have someone in our neighborhood that has the lights up. He also had them on since the day after Halloween.
