When do YOU put up your Christmas Tree?

I'm wondering when everyone else puts up their Christmas Trees and Decorations. As a child we use to do it usually the weekend after Thanksgiving. So family would be around to decorate my grandparents tree, etc.
When do you put up your tree?
Decorations?
Presents under the tree, way before, right before or only on Christmas Eve?

My DFiance says day after Thanksgiving is WAY TOO EARLY... I say why spend all the time and money to enjoy it for a few days/weeks... the longer the better so up it went last year the saturday after Thanksgiving. Along with all the goodies I bought at the Black Friday sale...lol!

Usually the weekend after Thanksgiving for the outside and the tree (we never buy a real one). Last year I had my c-section scheduled for the day after Thanksgiving so I had DH put everything up the day BEFORE Thanksgiving LOL! I knew I wouldn't be up to dealing with it all after my surgery. The gifts we do not put out until after Remy goes to bed on Christmas eve though. She tends to get into them plus now with Holly in the picture I really do not want to deal with a one year old "attacking" the gifts and unwrapping everything LOL!

I'll put ours out Thanksgiving this year--its ready to go. Its a small fiber optic tree that I left the ornaments on, but I have a new Disney ornament to add on. It is mostly Irish themed tree.

I usually try to get our tree on Thanksgiving day, and I already have the decorations and presents ready to decorate and put under the tree.

I'm ready to do it now! I'm sure I'll wait till after Thanksgiving, though. Sometime before I leave for Disney on Dec 8th.

As a child we always put it up after Thanksgiving. Mom used to tell me that it was bad luck to put it up before then.

I don't beleive that, I just think that she did not want to put it up then.

I love Chrismas much more than Thanksgiving. I guess it is just more Magical to me. I usually put it up as soon as I can after Thanksgiving. Sometimes the day after, sometimes it isn't until the weekend before I can get to it.

I can't wait until it gets here!

We put up our Christmas tree on Thanksgiving day. All other Christmas decor is up that same weekend. Gifts go under the tree as we purchase them and wrap them up. So usually by December 1st there's a few gifts under the tree.

We'll probably start putting gifts under the tree on Christmas Eve once we have children....that way they can believe in Santa.

Usually the tree goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving now that I have an artificial one. While I prefer real ones - and they are affordable in our area unlike so many others - I'm always worried about fire to the point where I don't even want to tune on the tree lights.

All the other decorations will go up around the same time. It's usually at least an all day project and with DD now, I'll probably have to wait until she's at day care. Last count I had over 100 Santa figurines of various sizes and types (most under 12" tall) and I'm pretty picky about arranging them.

When I was a kid, my Dad always made us wait until Christmas Eve. So when me and DH bought our first house, it went up the weekend after Thanksgiving!

I want to put our tree up the saturday after thanksgiving. We usually wait until later than that but this year I want to decorate earlier and enjoy it longer.

Thanksgiving weekend. We usually do the inside first and then DH slowly gets the outside up at his leisure. I love the Christmas Season so much, I want it to last as long as I can...but I would love to put everything away the day after Christmas! Never happens, but that is what I would like!

At my parents it's always Christmas Eve, this is the first year that I will actually be putting decorations up in my own home, so not sure when we'll do it

We usually don't. We don't really have the room and we travel "home for the holidays" to visit out-of-state family whenever possible anyway. I think in 14 Christmases we've only put up a tree twice.

boy am I in the minority...we NEVER put our tree up until Christmas eve...a couple of times my mom tries to get us to put it up earlier, but nope I refure, tradition is tradition....can't imagine having a tree up right after thangsgiving...but we leave it up til after New year's...when do you take yours down?

Usually around Dec 5th or so....I only will have a real tree in my house so I don't want to put it up to earl! But I decorate the outside of the house Thanksgiving weeks, usually around Tues or Weds since I always take that weeks vacation.
