We don't leave for a little over a week but I am wondering if I should pack over the weekend - with the kids activities, school and work I don't want to wait until the day or so before - when do you start to pack? Do the things get really wrinkled? Any suggestions? thanks!!!!

LOL Well I don't leave until Nov 26 and I've already got a small suitcase with some things in it. Not clothes yet but I'll be adding summer clothes as soon as we're done wearing them here in Sept or Oct. I find if you roll the clothes they get less wrinkles than folding them.

I pretty much save most of our packing for the night before. I know that I would end up taking everything out and recheck it all. I've have learned in the past. However, I still have the suitcases out a week ore more ahead of time. Strange, I know.

well I guess I should get moving then.... just not enough hours in the day -- maybe if I spent less time here on the Disboards and more time....... no that's not an option...okay - someone else needs to do the laundry from here out.....lol

Get your list started!! :teeth: PassPorter has a great packing list to doucble check that you have all of the extras!! I'm like some of the other posters...I starting packing months before our trip (but I'm a little obsessive... :rotfl: ). ENJOY!!

we leave in 32 days

we started washing shorts and such already this past weekend....

suitcases start to come out next weekend

HI, I usually start to put stuff "aside" about a month before the trip. Then about 2 weeks before the trip I start to actually place things into my suitcase. Then about 2 days before the trip I actually nicely pack everything in and also at the same time weed out the stuff that I really don't need. I really hate over packing! This tends to work for me all the time. :earboy2:

I pack the night before and I sleep around 3am and wake up about 5am to leave to the airport. Sorry... no suggestions here.

Krispe - I do about the same thing. I put aside stuff starting about a month out - mostly toiletries & stuff at that point. This weekend with about 12 days to go, I pulled out my summer clothes from their storage in the basement & started washing the things I plan to bring. The weeding process has already started. I will add my long sleeves & pants & nicely pack the day we leave (since we have an evening flight this time)

DS & DH tend to pack the day before or day of...... Drives me nuts!

I stated my list a couple of months ahead of time so I could buy odds and ends over several weeks instead putting a chunk of change down all in one visit to the store and would pack these as I bought them. I made a list of clothes about a week ahead of time and did all laundry. As I packed things in the suitcase I marked them off the list. I was fully packed the day before the trip. My dad always made sure our bags were ready to go and by the door the day before a trip, so that's just kinda stuck with me. Now that I've kept up better with odds and ends I leave those packed away in a small suitcase in the closet. Speaking of...I need to put my Brita bottles back in the small suitcase...I got them out to use at the zoo yesterday.

I usually start a pile of things such as sunscreen, $1.00 rain ponchos, goggles, etc. about 4 weeks out. I pick up things at the store as I see them and put them in the pile. I start the laundry about two days out and pack the night before we leave. Last year, just as I finished folding the last load of laundry the electricity went out so we were packing by candellight and flashlight. My dd princess: age 7 commented on how romantic it was!!! I hope we never have to that again. It took twice as long to get everything packed. It is really hard to see into drawers when the electricity is out. Of course, after I finished around midnight the lights came back on. Too funny!!! I am glad the laundry was finished or I guess I would have been going to the laundry mat to get it done!!

Three weeks before - I start getting anxious, 2 weeks before - I get the suitcase out and pack everything that I don't need to wear, plus sandals, sunscreen, etc. One week before - I pack everything, then add any last minute items. :cheer2:

We have 55 days to go, and I already have a plastic box (with a lid) in which I'm throwing various things that I pick up at different times. I throw in such things as sunscreen, our fanny packs, bandaids, hand gel, wet wipes, film, pump handsoap for the bathroom, little packs of laundry detergent, videotapes, kids' sprayfans, etc.

As you can see, I'm definitely a Type-A personality packrat.

After our trip to the NH beaches this July I'll keep the suitcases out and slowly start to pack them up again. We come home from NH about 2.5wks before we leave for FL

I usually get a list together about 2 weeks before I leave. But I don't pack until the night before.

My girlfriend packed her bags about a month ago, and we're not leaving for another 4 weeks. She can though since she has so many clothes. If I packed that far in advance, I'd be wearing the same outfits everyday for 2 months.

That's what I do too. Make a nice list and add things to it as I think of them, then get everything togehter 1-2 days before we leave.

I'm not going till 2008, too early to pack???

Actually, I did get some stuff that I put in a Disney Knapsack (purchased at Disney Direct). I have the fastpass holder, name badge from last visit, passporter (which I have to wait for my addition), and some other small things. I also love my Disney Cooler that I got from Disney Direct. It folds flat so I'd like to somehow take it along for at the resort (probably change my mind later).

It depends when I go. I'm now going in May so I'll in a few weeks I'll start putting in sunscreen, sunglasses, fannypacks etc. Since I don't need summer clothes I'll pack them a month before, or as I buy for the kids. Then 1 or 2 days before I'll pack everything like underthings etc.

My family gets too excited the closer it gets :teeth: ..afraid we will forget things (although we never have). We start packing about a month in advance. When I buy there summer clothes, I wash them and start putting some of them in the suit cases. Along with sunscreen, sunglasses, pool items, etc. Things we really will not use to much before we go.
