When do they assign your site number? We are going at the end of September in our popup and my husband's parents are flying down and saying with us. We have a reservation for a perferred site which i understand is 100 - 300 loops near a comfort station.
My father in law just had a hip replacement and we did reserve a golf cart but we have a medical need to be near a comfort station. i thought if i had a medical note from his dr. explaining the need that woudl help with our assignment. At what point should i call them and get that info faxed down to them?

any help would be great! Thanks!

Except for a few special times, details withheld to protect the helpful, we have received our site number at the time of the actual check-in. This was only when the site was ready for set-up. If the site was not yet ready, we would park our RV in the big lot and call back or be notified as to the actual site number.

One time DW saw the site number on the CM's paperwork but since the previous RVer had not left we were not given the number. We parked the RV and biked to the site. They were still there taking their time packing at 1:00PM, well past the official 11:00AM check-out time.:confused3

Doesn't that just miff you when someone does that, when probably they would be the first to complain if it happened to them. I mean, all they had to do if they wanted to do something that morning, was pack they day before, move out of the site early that morning to FW parking lot, then go back in to enjoy the day or even that morning.

I had a friend that came along one year in his RV and started to pull that stunt. I had mostly packed that night before & only had to unplug and hook up the dingy. When I went outside at 9:00, he not only had not started breaking down his site, but they were not even awake. Well I woke them up & helped him break down his site as he grumbled about it.

I'd actually recommend faxing 4-5 days prior to arrival, as it's my understanding that's when the site assigner gets all the info and if you send it too soon it may get lost in the shuffle. Dr.'s note probably isn't necessary, I would just be specific about what your needs are and that there's a medical reason for your request to be near the CS. Unless you're checking in on a crazybusy day, they generally do a pretty good job of assigning you a site that will work for you.

Good luck and have a great trip!

We checked in on 4/9 & I faxed our request on 4/5 with 4 site numbers. To my surprise we got the first request but 2 sites before it which was a better site anyway. We loved it!

John, I hope it wasn't us that kept you from your site. :flower3: Last time we checked out we were after 1 p m getting things together. With three special needs children and a DW suffering from recent back surgery, the work of packing fell on one person. And because of her pain we had decided to leave a couple days early....just didn't get away early in the day. Oh, and I forgot to mention it was raining most of the day. But that shows there can be extenuating circumstances for late check out. :headache:

Anyway, we just booked a quick Fort trip for June 6-11 in conjunction with another reason to be in the area. :cool1: Things are looking good. :thumbsup2
