when do you get assigned a guide??

our recent resale purchase should be in the system by tomorrow for us to start making ressies....

my question is : when will we get assigned to a guide? how will we know who our guide is? and what can our guide do for us? just curious.....

We have passed rofr but haven't closed yet, and I was able to call yesterday and find out who our guide was. Can't make any reservations yet, but I can call with questions.

Apparently, whoever the guide was for the previous owner continues to be the guide with that contract. Go ahead and call, I'm guessing they'll be able to link you up today.

A guide is just a salesman, once the sale is over forget him. You make reservations through member services. The only reason aguide would want to have anything at all to do with you if he thinks you are a candidate for more sales or have some referals.

understood...that's really the reason i wanted to know who our guide was. if/when we decide to do any add-ons, i just wanted some contact info...

If you bought a resale thru a timeshare company you dont get a guide.
When you buy thru Disney..you get a lithograph of your home resort, DVC back pack or tote bag. Also..if you add on thru Disney...you get duplicates of the first gift.

Dont know about everyone else..but...my guide is "great" and truly demonstrates, to me, Disney Magic. All these years..when I need an "official" answer to a question he has always called me back in a timely fashion and addresses my concerns...certainly not like a car salesman for example!! He is certainly NOT a salesman to me!!

BTW....After my add on a few weeks ago..HE sent me "special" gifts... 2 red DVC hats, 2 DVC Christmas ornaments and 2 DVC travel mugs...WOW was I surprised !!

I was under the impression that no matter who you purchased from that you would be assigned to a guide. Is this not the case?
