I'm just wondering when everyone puts up thier Tree and decorates for christmas. We usually put ours up thanksgiving weekend.

We decorate Thanksgiving weekend but the tree doesn't go up until mid-December. I am really looking forward to decorating - though come a few days after Christmas I am ready for it all to come down.

We put our tree up the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Can't wait!!!!

We usually have a quiet Thanksgiving at home, and DH loves to cook everything. So while he is doing that I start decorating. I can't help myself, I just love it!

I usually get all the decorations out of the attic the weekend after Thanksgiving, and then decorate the house over the next week or so.

We'll probably put the tree up around the second weekend in December.

Saturday after Thanksgiving. Hubby hates it. I can hear it now "To early for this????? :rotfl:

What about us red-necks that never take 'em down?

Christmas decoration = Easter decorations...what da hey! :confused3 :teeth:

At home my mom starts putting up Christmas decorations pretty much right after Thanksgiving. But we don't get our tree until a couple of weeks before Christmas.

Thanksgiving evening is when we start putting the tree up and then we continue throughout that weekend.

Not long to go now! :santa:

I put the tree and inside decorations up the weekend before Thanksgiving. I put up the outside stuff December 1st.

My son's birthday usually falls on Thanksgiving weekend, so we wait until the next weekend to decorate for the holidays.

I had to pick other, there wasn't an option for I do not decorate for Christmas. I figure we are never home for it so why bother?

Our tradition has always been to do it on Thanksgiving weekend, even though DH wants to start much earlier. This year though we are going to my family's for Thanksgiving (5 1/2 hours away) and won't be home until Sunday, so I told him we can decorate earlier this year :thumbsup2 So probably the weekend before.

I wasn't sure how to vote, so I chose Thanksgiving week. We'll decorate after Thanksgiving, but we never put our tree up till like a week, 2 at most, before Christmas. We get a real tree and if you put them up too early, they're dying by Christmas.

We don't start decorating until just before Thanksgiving. I always dread dragging out all of those huge boxes.

I never put out anything Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Having said that, we leave our decorations up through Epiphany, so most of it isn't up until mid-December.

We usually start putting up lights and a wreath in early December (depends on when the weather is good) and the tree goes up in mid December. Christmas music begins on Thanksgiving weekend. I'd probably start listening sooner if DH wouldn't complain.

We are compulsive decorators. Either this weekend or next, the outside lights will go up. We don't have trees or bushes, it's just the house outline. DH use to work for a company that did outdoor seasonal decorating and he would always freeze doing work for others, so he refuses to freeze doing his own. The lights don't get turned on until Thanksgiving evening. The lights around the windows will also go up before Thanksgiving. The only outside lights that don't go up before, are the ones on our stair railing and those that are part of the display that goes in/on the haybales. The Thanksgiving/fall items have to come down 1st.

Now for the inside decorations, those go up the weekend after Thanksgiving. The tree is decorated, stockings hung, the crib set out, and all the wall hangings are switched out.

When everyone leave my house on Thanksgiving and I have cleaned up, I start taking out my Christmas Decorations. I take the weekend to decorate my house. I put my lights on sometime in November when there is a warmer day. I don't turn them on until after Thanksgiving. I like my decorations to be out for as long as possible.
