When do you buy your WDW park tickets?

How far in advance I mean. Does it matter is the trip is 6 months out? Will it make a difference? Thanks!

We don't buy tickets. We have the Sorcerer pass. But, if you buy tickets, you put in a start date.

I believe tickets historically go up in price in October, so maybe buy before then to hedge bets? They aren't activated until you go through the turnstiles, so no harm getting them somewhat early if you can afford to.

As long as a price increase is not expected, I don't buy them far in advance. Coincidentally, I just bought tickets today for a trip beginning May 10.

AP holder but not true of all I travel with. Generally, I find Underground Tourist has the best prices and you can get tickets the week you’re visiting.

In the past years as we bought enough non expiring to last 10 but lasted more as my mid late teen was still a child. - stopped going twice a year.
Now depends last year was around 2 months prior this year 4 months prior.... Honestly it is a random day I remember I still need tickets and feel like buying them and putting the time into adding them to my account.

At the last minute pretty much, not a huge incentive to buy them early, prices fluctuate some, but we go early summer and usually a ticket deal drops a month or so before so we just wait to buy.

Now that tickets are date based, it’s theoretically possible for Disney to raise the price for a given date or period without announcing a general price increase, and if you weren’t monitoring prices for those specific dates you wouldn’t know. So I like to buy tickets when I have the wherewithal to pay for them, even if it means buying one at a time to spread out the expense.

I just discovered this and it's amazing, but AAA always has the best ticket deals I've seen for WDW and then on top of that they give you something called dining dollars for each transaction.

I thought these were useless until I found out from these lovely boards that you can use them towards disney gift cards! I processed each transaction seperately and they gave me $20 dining dollars for each transaction, so four tickets on four different transactions= $80 off of Disney gift cards!!!

EDIT:
Wanted to add I didn't even look at tickets until we were within 90 days out honestly. Thought we were going to do an AP and likely will do a 14 day ticket instead (US peeps can buy them from UK is what I have found).
