When do you book your next cruise on board?

I *hope* to have the $$ to book a 7 day cruise during our 4day Wonder cruise next May. I know MANY of you have booked your next cruise (or two) while still on board. It seems that there is only one CM on board who does this?? (correct me if i'm wrong please!) Are there set times listed when you can do this? Do you find there is a long wait to do this, or can you set up a time to meet to discuss booking another cruise?

Thanks for you help!!:D

There are certain times to sign up, and we found the waits (we just returned yesterday from the 7-day eastern) not very long at all.:D

We actually booked two future cruises (don't know if we'll be able to do both but wanted to book just in case) and only had one family ahead of us each time. We booked the second time while on the last night of the trip and waited maybe 10 minutes.

We rebooked while on the 5/23 wonder. We knew what cruise we wanted and had filled out an info form ahead of time so she had the quote ready and left the info on our voice mail.

That evening she was at her desk alone so we sat down and filled out all the paperwork.

HTH!

Thanks guys! Thats good to know! I dont think that the date i will want will be available when we sail May 2005. (i'll want may 2007). I guess i'll have to book a date (any date) and just call to change it when the May date is available. Do i *tell* them what i am doing since the date i want isn't available or do i just pick a date and book it and not say anything?

What is the savings if you book on board?
Can you charge the deposit to a credit card?

When we re-booked on board we were given a $200 credit per room (7 day cruise...less for 3 or 4 day, I think) and 10% off the rate.

Yes, you can use a credit card for the deposit.

When booking on board, are the deposit requirement the same, $200 per person?

Two questions.....

1) People mention a $200 deposit... is this for CC members? We had to put down a $250 deposit for our 7 nighter.

2) We are cruising this November. It will be our first cruise. We also plan on cruising in December 05. I have already reserved our room for December 05 as the prices keep raising. For instance, the December 17, 2005 has gone up $200 per adult since we reserved it. That is a total of $400. If I wait until we cruise, I run the risk of the prices being even higher and not getting a good deal even with the room credit and the 10% off. Has anyone else ever found that by waiting to book while on the cruise, they paid MORE money (or am I the only wacky one looking this far out) and part two of my question (didn't realize I was going to have a part two until I got to typing.... :hyper: ) is what if you already have it booked with deposits and so on and the price would be cheaper while you are cruising? DCL has the lowest price guarantee so would they credit us the difference or would we be better off rebooking and cancelling the old one when we get back home?

TIA :wave2:
