Just curious if you can book the REAS when you book your cruise?

Someone said the chocolates provided are not very good - and dh doesn't drink champagne... (for the record - I do!) :drinking1

however we love to eat and love to be pampered :rotfl2:

DH booked the REAS when we booked our cruise. January 26 was our booking date for our 9/1 cruise.

I am not sure if it is good or not since we have not been on this cruise yet. I do drink champagne and so does DH. It sounds like all you guys will be sharing in will be the breakfast, the turn down service, Palo's and the massage. Which is the majority of the REAS package.

We had thought to cancel the package at one time since they DCL has the new on-line ressies. We decided not to. After all we are cruising with out the 2 children. LOL

I will say that DW and I did this for our anniversary cruise last year, and really enjoyed it. It was nice to come back to the room to the romantic turndown (that occurs on your night at Palo), since this was similar to something I had done for DW at a cabin on our first anniversary. We enjoyed the chocolates, and everything in the basket. We saved the Champagne and brought it home with use to save for New Year's (we rarely drink).

One of the best parts, and often overlooked, is the extended menu you get to order from for breakfast (including hot food). Just be careful in ordering. Some of the items come with side items that aren't mentioned on the menu. The server ended up bringing in four or five plates of food, and we thought we had ordered just enough for two people! But, it was quite fun!

Where can you find information about the REAS and what does it stand for? My dh and I just started to research DCL for our upcoming anniversary trip next year.

REAS is the Romance Package at Sea

We did the REAS package for our anniversary, and in our opinion, it was very well worth it. We didn't have to stress about the Palo/spa 'ressie rush' (this was before online bookings,) and our 9 year-old DD thought the rose petals (don't want to spoil too much for others) was 'cool.'

We're planning on doing it again for our Thanksgiving cruise. I have to confess though, we DID love the chocolates, but imho, there's no such thing as bad chocolate, LOL. (I eat too much chocolate.) :rotfl2:

Just a warning..we did REAS for our cruise last week and the box of "chocolates" was really a box filled with Lifesaver Creamsaver. :confused3 We also forgot about the breakfast in bed until it was too late. We had only 1 day left and that was our character breakfast. Our room steward never mentioned it or we would have used it one morning. Just make sure you know all that you get so you don't miss out on anything. Amy :flower:

OMG! :scared1: I wonder why they changed it? Our box of chocolates (May 2004) was about 12 heart-shaped milk chocolates (about the size of quarters.)

Believe me, I saw the box but didn't open it up until the kids were napping the next day. I was getting my book out to have a nice relaxing time reading, eating chocolates and I opened the box and my Dh thought something was deathly wrong. All I could do was grunt and show him the box of Lifesavers. Talk about being all dressed up but nowhere to go!!! He still laughs when he sees the empty box. I don't know what happened to the Lifesavers nor do I care!!! Amy :flower: :rotfl2:

From another thread, another person experienced the lifesavers. SHe said she found out about hers when she got home and opened the box (not on the cruise). She called and she was given a credit of $14(?). I think DCL told her that they had chocolate for the people who found this out on the cruise but you had to go and make a complaint in order to find this out and get your free chocolate.

When we cruise in September the first thing I am going to do is open thsi box and see what is inside.
