Twice I have tried to post and lost my post each time.

Assume, I have a 50 point contract but want to get a 150 point reservation next year at 11 months.
If I understand correctly, I can use my banked points from this year, my current points from next year, and borrowed points from two years.

I understand there are strict rules around banking and borrowing points.
Once points are banked for next year, they can't later be used for the current year.
Once points are borrowed, they can't be returned.

In order to get the reservation does it require me to bank and borrow points at that time?
Do you use points when you get a reservation or when you check in to the resort?

You borrow the points at the time you make the reservation.

You bank points before your banking window closes.

So I want to travel in October 2010 with my April use year. I get my 2009 points in 14 days - and I'll bank all 150 points because I'm not going this year. In November of this year I'll book my trip (lets say it will be a big one) use my 150 2009 banked points, my 150 current year (2010) points - even though they aren't in my account yet, and if I need to - say 20 point that I borrow from 2011 (which leave 2011 at the time I book and cannot be returned to 2011 ever).

That trip involves two rooms because my brother in law is coming. He cancels and I have an extra room. If he cancels within my banking window, I want to make sure I use the banked 2009 points and the borrowed 2011 points before the 2010 points - then I can bank the extra 2010 points into 2011 to use next year - but ONLY in the 2011 use year, once they've been banked once, they have to be used that year.

The points are committed to the reservation and subtracted from your account at the time the reservation is made. That's why you have to have enough points in the same Use Year as your travel dates to make the reservation.
