We financed through DVC and I know we start our loan payments this month. Does that mean we also begin paying our dues this month, or when the resort opens? I looked through our material and couldn't find it, though I'm sure it's probably in there somewhere.

You pay a pro-rated amount based upon your unit opening date. Call Member Accounting for exact information.

Exactly...it'll depend on when your unit opens.

Ours opens in Sept, so our first dues payment comes out (autodeduct monthly) in Sept.

I called last week and they told me that dues would start in September and would be pro-rated for the year and be paid in 3 payments for 2007. I'm not sure if that means Sept, Oct, Nov with dues and no payment in Dec. or not. But, then in 2008, regular monthly payments should begin. I wanted to pay for it via credit card each month but they said that monthly dues can only be paid thru your bank account.

You will owe dues beginning on the later of your Unit's opening date and the start of your UY. My Unit opens in Sep but I have an Oct UY so I will owe 2007 dues starting Oct 1st. That works out to 92 days worth of dues for this year.

You can verify the date by logging into the member website and looking at the amount of dues you are being billed on your AKV contract(s). Figure out how many days' worth of dues you will owe and use that number to figure out the start date.

Its based on either when your Use Year starts or the date your Unit is available for occupancy, whichever is later. Since the first AKV units will not be available until July, the most you would pay for is July-Dec 07.

The estimated occupancy date should have been listed in your documents, along with the explanation of how they calculate pro-rated dues. It is buried in there, but should be in there somewhere :)

ok..if i wanted a uy of dec could i get it in akv, and isnt there one part that is opning till dec. so i wouldnt have to pay dues till dec?? Im confused and just asking

Anyone gotten notification of your AKV dues yet? I can't see anything when I login online.

Is this something where we need to specifically talk to Member Accounting? I thought they'd send something in the mail. Or at least have it working online instead of "Sorry this information is not available at this time."

I took the quiz. It said that I am most like Donald Duck. :)

For anyone who has already purchased AKV, you do not pay dues for this year until the specific unit you own a portion of is declared into the condominium association. You start paying dues for this year based on whichever comes last... the opening date for your unit or your use year.

You should get something in the mail, via email (if you've signed up for notification) and it should show up online. Our AKV unit was opened for occupancy in mid-July so our dues were pro-rated for 169 days and due on Aug 15th.

We went online and paid them with a credit card, no problems whatsoever.

I received my first MF bill this month for my original AKV contract. This contract has an August UY with a unit availability in July. The MF is due on Sept 1.

For my add-on contracts, I still have an August UY, of course, but my units aren't ready for occupancy until September. I have not received a statement on this portion of the dues yet.
