When do water parks close for refurbishments?

We are going to WDW mid October. Does anyone know which water park will be closed then?

I believe since the schedule switches every year... Blizzard Beach 'should' close in October, followed by Typhoon Lagoon Early 2016.

Since official hours have yet to be released... I'd expect Blizzard Beach to close for refurbishment 10/24 or 10/31

Thanks! We've never been to a Disney water park in all of our trips, but thought it might be fun. We're going Oct 17-24, so we may have our choice. Was thinking it might be crowded if only 1 was open.

Actually the past few years, WDW does not rotate the schedule. I wish they would since we usually go in November and TL (which we prefer over BB) is closed. TL usually closes mid-late October until end of the year. BB usually closes Jan until mid-March.

I'm glad you posted this... because I releazied I got my OP parks mixed up!

Last year... Typhoon Lagoon Closed in late October, and Blizzard Beach closed in this January... as you mentioned!

For some reason I had them switched, apologies to the OP.

I am surprised to hear they no longer 'switch' years though?

I guess we'll know for sure in a few days!

**ETA... nope... my parks are right if Disney does choose to 'switch'... with TL closed in Oct. last year... one would assume BB would close in Oct. this year. But I suppose that's only if they 'switch' them!

Because of Blizzard Beach's wintery theme it stays open through the end of the year, then closes in January for refurb. TL closes in late October through the end of the year.

My TA emailed me the November hours the other day and Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to be closed for refurbishment the whole month of November. For October, there are only hours for TL, for the first 3 weeks of the month, the last week of Oct has no hours listed but it does not say closed.

For the last few years they have done this and it's so they don't have to decorate tl for the holidays. BB already is.

The only thing that can change from year to year is when they start and end and when they switch over.

I also noticed the discrepancy in the TL refurbishment schedule. The travel Agent calendar is usually correct, but I'm surprised they would close TL prior to Columbus Day. Anyone have insight into this?

I've never known the Water Parks to close 'that' early... and can confirm that last years Agency Calender reflected a similar discrepancy. Not sure why that is though?!

Oh, I'm glad you mentioned last year's calendar had a similar discrepancy. They closed for refurbishment later last year, so that makes me think they'll close later this year too. Thanks for your help!
