Hi

We are thinking about an extra little trip at the beginning of January for 10 nights. We plan to arrive on 2nd January. I note that the Osborne Family lights are up until 8th January this holiday.

When do they take down the resort and park decorations ? I just wonder if we will manage to see any of them ?

Thanks

Belive it or not they come down pretty fast. I think by the week after new years they are completly removed.

We were there January 8th - 14th this year. If I remember correctly, most of the park decorations came down by the 2nd day of our visit and it was at least mid-week before the decorations were down in our resort (Boardwalk). I think you'll get a chance to see quite a few decorations at the beginning of your trip!

Last January when we were there the resort decorations were up until mid-Janaury. Don't recall seeing a lot of park decorations, but as a previous poster said, that early in the month you should have a pretty good chance of seeing them yet, especially at the Studios if the Osborne lights are running that long. ::MinnieMo

We arrived in Orlando on January 2nd this year. It was the last night of the Osborne Family Lights (also and EMH night, so we almost didn't get to see them because we weren't in a Disney Resort. CM let us in just to see the lights as long as we came right back out after seeing them. A little bit of Pixie Dust there.)

The next day we took a bus to Wilderness Lodge to check out the decorations there. Took the boat to MK & checked out their decorations. Rode the Monorail to Contemporary, Grand Floridian and Polynesian. Took a bus from one of these to Beach & Yacht Clubs. We were staying at a DTD hotel and DTD was nicely decorated the whole week.

Went to AK near the end of the week and the decorations were still up and Christmas songs still playing and we saw the last day of Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade. (Programs said that it was suppose to end the day before, so I guess we just lucked out that they added another day.

When we checked into AKL on the 7th, the decorations were still up and didn't come down the 2 days we were there.

When we took our trip in January they were up the entire time we were there. We asked a CM while we were there and they said that they generally leave up most of the decorations up until after the Disney Marathon, then they all get packed away rather swiftly at the resorts
