When do they announce the dates for the Merry Mixer 2013?

I don't ever remember one being on Tuesdays. I seem to remember them always being either Wednesdays or Thursdays, and it has always been all 4 weeks of December.

It was held on Tuesday in both 2011 and 2012. I don't recall about 2010 - we were going to go but had schedule the CP for that same night and decided it would be too much since it was at the CR - but I think it was Thur or Friday. 2009 was on Thursday. 2008 was Friday I believe which we missed because we flew in that day and flew out the next Friday. :headache:

It really would be nice if they announced them much earlier than they have in the past.

2012: Tuesday
2011: Tuesday
2010: One Friday, three Thursdays
2009: Thursday
2008: Friday
2007: Thursday

As for 2013, you can probably eliminate Thursdays as a possibility. The condo association meeting is scheduled for Thursday 12/12 and I can't see them hosting two events in a single day within a couple hours of each other.

Tuesday seems like the best bet, but scheduling issues with the venue could always prompt a change.

I went to a Merry Mixer about 4 years ago. I wanted to get a diet coke from the bar. $4 for a can! Are you kidding?

We haven't been in years (probably 2008 or so) but I thought all refreshments were included then.

We'll be there from Nov. 30-Dec. 14th....and would love to go! Have never been before!

How do we find out about it if/when they announce it?

I've made it to one, in all these years. It was fun, and would go again if they had it when I'm there! I had 3 guests with me, and we all got the ornament.

Hmm, if members really are paying for the Merry Mixer, it seems only logical/fair/right/reasonable/choose your own descriptor that those of us who can't attend should receive an ornament just the same. I would guess that a good portion of the membership would appreciate the annual ornament over seasonal mixers that do not fit their travel options.

Then again, others might prefer some other option ... Like no mixers/mingles etc. and the millions of dollars going towards some other more universally beneficial/accessible to all members thing.

You learn new things on these boards every day!

I wonder if that figure Bill mentioned includes the DCL DVC Member gatherings too?

I haven't been to one before and if they have one while I'm there this year I'll try to go because it sounds like fun.

But as far as the ornament I called member services last year and asked if they could mail me one and they did. So if you can't make it but want one it's worth a phone call.

I thought the cost has been discussed before, and wasn't it decided that the cost comes out of the sales budget, (or something like that, for promotional purposes) not dues.:confused3

Not for the mixers or Welcome home Wednesdays per the DVD/DVC executive offices. The budget line item is: Member Activities.

DVC posted today on FB that the Mixers will be Nov 25, Dec 2, 9, 16.
Anyone know where they occur? We will be in WDW for some of those dates.

For the last couple of years, they've been held at the World Showplace Pavilion (between UK & Canada) in Epcot. Valid park admission is required.

See the link in my post above yours.

I just read this on Facebook, posted by DVC News . com :santa: :cheer2:

"The Disney Vacation Club Member Merry Mixer returns to Epcot's World Showplace Pavilion beginning on Monday, November 25, 2013. The event continues on December 2, 9 and 16.

The doors open at 3:00 pm with the Mixers running through 5:00 pm. Additional details will be revealed as the event approaches.

The Member Merry Mixer is a holiday-themed get-together hosted by Disney Vacation Club exclusively for its owners. Highlights typically include complimentary refreshments, music and dancing, photo opportunities with Disney characters, exclusive merchandise sales, crafts and activities for the kids, and more.

Epcot theme park admission is required. There is no additional charge to attend the Mixer. Members should be prepared to show their Disney Vacation Club ID card at the door.

The World Showplace Pavilion is located between the Canada and England pavilions in Epcot's World Showcase. "

Yeah! DH & I will be there!

In the past, guests staying on points were welcomed. Now I see, exclusively for members. I hope DCuzs can come with us.

I'll be at OKW on cash but am a member. Do you have to sign up to attend or just show member card at door?

You just show up!

I have only been once, with my guests, when it was held at the Contemporary. The line to get in stretched for a long while. My guess is that it took 15 minutes to go through the queue. We were coming in after the event had started.

How has the line been since they moved the event?

Yeah!! Already have Epcot on the schedule for CP dinner that night. Guess we just need to arrive a bit earlier.
