When do the spring break crowds ease?

I know it is busy as it seems the majority of the schools are off this week for spring break.

Does it calm down after this weekend? I have had a look and it seems there are less schools on spring break for next week.

I am from the uk hence the question.

My experience in the U.S. is that colleges have spring break in March and many (not all) elementary and high schools have their breaks in April. In my opinion, I would think the crowds would go down after Easter on April 20.

Agreed. Even religious schools will generally schedule breaks the week before easter, not the week after.

I'm interested to see what wait times are like between Easter and Memorial Day this year.

Many in Louisiana schedule the week after Easter--and include Good Friday.

Since we have the Mardi Gras break we don't need the earlier week that many other districts throughout the country schedule.

Many do a week in mid-March.

Typically most schools are back in full swing, except private schools that spring break takes place from Holy Thursday thru Easter week.

My kids school vacation is the week after Easter this year (4/21-4/25th), which I think is the same for most of the north east US. We leave for Disney the 28th.

Just to add, my two older elementary school kids are off the week before Easter but some schools in my area (even two towns over) are off the week after Easter... We are in NJ. We are pulling our kids out of school and going early May.

I was going to say a week after Easter. But that's when the Mine Coaster opens...........

Still, you need to follow the school kids. When they are out..... crowds are in. When they're all in, crowds are down. Not many school breaks in early May, so I bet that's still a good bet for lower crowds, Mine Coaster or not.

Usually Spring Break is through March, but many schools have their Spring Break linked to Easter. This year Easter is kind of late so it more than likely won't ease up until the week after April 20th.

We are here now and it is the busiest of all the times we have been here- we came for my daughters birthday March 7 a few years ago and it was fine. We definitely won't come in March again. Two trips in May were wonderful! I think we will come in May from now on.

Oh, and we live in NJ and dd has her SB Easter week. Don't know how many folks will have SB between the end of March and Easter. Maybe not too many.

The crowds will lighten-up after Easter week. "Lighten-up" is very subjective.

Normally pretty crowded thru the week after Easter. Might not be that much so this year as Easter is a bit later than the last couple of years.

May is great!

Historically the crowds aren't bad in May......unless you count the love bugs in the numbers!
