When do the ships decorate for christmas?

We are going 28th November -5th December so just wondering whether they will be decorated really.

We were on the Wonder last Dec. 2-6 and it was beautifullly decorated at that time. So was the terminal and Castaway Cay.

You will probably be one of the first to see the decorations. Cruised last year on 12/1 and they were decorated than.

I keep hearing that they put up Christmas decorations right after Thanksgiving.

The ships get decorated in early NOVEMBER. Both my November cruises (like the 2nd week), I'd wake up each day to trees and garlands magically appearing. The large tree in the atrium just appeared over night! The gingerbread house takes a while to build, that wasn't completed by the end of my first cruise (around 11/10 I think).

Castaway Cay gets decorated right before Thanksgiving, I believe.

I don't know how I feel about that. I may be in the minority here, but I actually don't want to see Christmas decorations on my Thanksgiving cruise. I don't know what it is, but it seems like it won't feel right to see Christmas/Winter stuff on the ship and at CC.

I am glad they will be up when we are on board but I prefer decorations up from the 1st December and no earlier.

Also as we are coming from the UK it would nice if the thanksgiving celebrations were extended so we can have a little taste of thanksgiving.

From what I've heard the only thing they do for Thanksgiving is add traditional Thanksgiving food to the menu, on that day only. You won't be missing much.

Hmmm we've been debating between that same cruise and one in February that goes to St. Maarten and St. Thomas. I'd love to see the decorations, so, you're making it very tempting... Decisions, decisions... I just wish it were the itinerary we haven't already experienced.

I agree but I am ecstatic that they will be in full tilt on Christmas decorations on dec 3rd!! You get the Disney Christmas magic without fighting the Christmas week crowds (and the increased prices!)

From what i understand all of the ships will be decorated right after thanksgiving. we are going in October for a 3 day and then in December for a 4 day so we can experience all of the decorations and such. oh those sail dates are in 2011 on the Dream

I'm so excited to see the decorations! I didn't even think of the fact that the ship would be decorated for the Holidays when I was booking our family (12 of us total) cruise to celebrate my in-laws 50th Anniversary. We are sailing on the Dream in Dec. 2011. This is like an early present!! Yay!

We were on this cruise last year and all the decorations were up both on the ship and in the terminal. Oh yeah, and CC is decorated as well. Very cool!
We had Christmas pictures done in front of the tree early in the cruise (formal night). They came out great and we used the photo for our Christmas cards. Had them done on the ship.
Enjoy and don't forget to get tickets for the Gingerbread decorating event in Studio Seas. It was a lot of fun.

In 2007 we got off the week before Thankgiving and they loaded the trees at the port that morning. We booked our next cruise for the first week of December and it was decorated then. If you have ever seen the parks and like it I highly recommend a cruise that is decorated. They do a great job as usual.

Forgot to add that the characters will be dressed up for the holidays as well. That's an added bonus. We even had Belle in her Christmas dress.

DD is on the older side for the characters but she will do the special costumes. Anyway, Belle was out in her Christmas dress for the very first meet and greet. By the time we saw it they had closed off the line. So I asked the CM at the end of the line when she would be back out dressed like that. He said that it was a one time thing and would be in yellow the rest of the week. So I told him that he should have put that in the Navigator (half joking). So I humorously begged him every time I saw him the remainder of the week. Finally, on the last day he caved and said "If you show up at "Til we Meet Again, you will be pleasantly surprised." As I really had been asking him at least twice a day for Belle in her Christmas dress, I knew exactly what he was talking about. I can be persistant.

We got there early (30 min) to stake out our spot. We let our neighbor in front of us because she was in a wheelchair (14 years old). DD was second and in heaven!!
