Can someone please remind me--what times of the year do the cheerleaders, sports teams, and teens from South America usually come to Disney?

You can check the Wide World of Sports web site for dates regarding cheer and other sports competitions.

BTG Big Tour Groups tend to be January and February which is their summer break. There will be a few in December. You will see them again in July during their winter break, but I feel like it's less. These groups are park focused.

Cheer & Dance will usually be January through May. These groups have competitions and some park time.

Then you have other sports and groups but I don't think they make as big an impact.

Pop Warner is generally early December. That is the sports teams.

However, I found this online for this year.....The Pop Warner Cheer & Dance Nationals will be held December 8-11, 2025 at the Charlotte Convention Center.

I cannot validate this on their website.

I believe you are asking about the obnoxious Brazilian Tour Groups. HopperFan answered that.

POP Warner has not been at Disney World in years. I believe after COVID they were not invited back.

Pop Warner football will also have its championship in Charlotte:

I didn't see any BTGs last January when we went. Could there be fewer of them coming now verses years past?

We saw large groups of college aged students mid-January in All Stars resorts. Also, alot of brazillian groups in the parks.

January. We recently encountered tons of the Brazilian teens and they run from ride to ride, in huge hoards, knocking over everyone in their path.

I've told you a million times never to exaggerate. I was going there when the Brazilian groups were plentiful. Never had a problem with them unless they made all that noise during an actual attraction. I never encountered that problem. I could see and hear them and just thought... "Damn I wish I could have that much fun here", but my sphincter was much to tight to allow myself to do that. They were just enjoying themselves and I never once saw them knocking people over. I did see them trying to cut the lines from time to time, but when they would maneuver themselves up to behind me, I just acted like I couldn't speak Portuguese and ignored them. It was easy because I couldn't speak Portuguese so therefore they couldn't be talking to me.

I’ve literally never interacted with you on here so I don’t know what you’re talking about and I’m not exaggerating. Were you there? Did you see what I saw? No, then don’t come at me like that. I was literally almost knocked over and I saw an old man ran into and his food and drink were knocked out of his hands. Again, I’ve never we spoken to you on here so you’ve never told me even once to not exaggerate. Lol, this is so weird because we’ve literally never interacted.

We went at the very end of January, never seen any. Do they visit more so before that in January?

OK, if you saw it, I stand corrected. I guess what triggered me was the one time I witnessed an full grown adult woman ran into an older gentlemen's cane knocking it out of his hand and having him almost fall over. You know what happened then? That woman turned around and yelled at him for not moving fast enough to get out of her way.

My point was when you make a point of implying that it wasn't an isolated thing involving those young people it then represented all of them is not be a true implication. My experiences with them, going back years was nothing other than they were chanting in Portuguese and I wasn't paranoid enough to think that since I couldn't understand it, they didn't have a right to be excited and having fun. As I said I never saw anything like that happen and I would not imply that all middle aged women are entitled either. It bothered me that the image you were sighting did blanket all of the groups.

By the way, I've told you a million times not to exaggerate is an oxymoron and a joke about sometimes exaggerated situations. Not meant as an insult.

I never heard any chanting this time but I did witness multiple instances of them running. In fact every time I saw them and they weren’t standing still they were running at full speed. When a large group of people runs through a crowded park it’s just not safe. Maybe this was particular to just this years groups, I don’t know but it was insane. The wife of the old man whose food was knocked out of his hands even tried to talk to an adult that was with the group, telling him to not not let them run like that, but he didn’t seem to understand. And when I was pushed into the wall in the dump shop after Everest, no one apologized or even seemed to notice that they’d knocked me over. I don’t usually go in January so this was my first experience with these groups, and it wasn’t pleasant.

I encountered a group several years ago (pre-COVID) during Presidents' Week that was running in a pack, and they left a huge pile of backpacks at the Tower of Terror entrance. While my dad and I were waiting for my mom and sister to come out of the bathroom, a CM came along, saw the backpacks, and was like "WHAT?? Who left all of these here??" I said "A tour group that went running through the Fast Pass Line". Then one of their "chaperones" came running up and the CM was explaining to him in no uncertain terms that bags could NOT be left like that - and certainly not unattended.

I joked to my dad that as rich as the kids in those groups are we could have made off with a lot. We'd never do it, but some people might.
