When do the Halloween decorations go up?

Just wondering if anyone knows when the Halloween decorations go up? We will be in Anaheim from 21st-28th Sept and was wondering if they'd be up while we are there.

Our first day last year was 1 October and DL was fully decorated, including Haunted Mansion. I say it would be at least the later dates you have.

The 'official' Halloweentime at DLR began on Friday, September 26th in 2008. In 2007, it began on September 21st. This year I am guessing it will be Friday, September 25th. Keep in mind that the Halloween decorations are not as thorough and extensive as the Christmastime stuff is, so it won't be as much of a transformation throughout the park as during late November - early January! DLR has begun to do more with Halloween in the last few years, but it is not as enveloping as the holiday time of year. Also, even though the official day of Halloweentime may be September 25th, it is quite possible that the Haunted Mansion Holiday will be open a couple of days prior to that. Sometimes they do a 'soft opening' prior to the official opening day. However, no one is sure yet if there will be a HMH overlay this year due to the original Haunted Mansion's 40th anniversary events taking place in September. It is possible DLR could skip the HMH altogether this year and just focus on the original HM, or if they do the HMH, they may not open it until later than they usually do (like closer to Halloween). That is a big question mark, but seeing that we are already in mid-April and Halloweentime would probably start in late September, only 5 months away, I am sure we will find out the fate of the Haunted Mansion Holiday for 2009 soon enough!

Let me jump in here, and ask a related question...What days are Mickey's Not So Haunted Halloween Party? I'd like to book my hotel ressies in advance, but have no idea which nights this party will be offered.

Okay, let me think..... last year was my first year of going to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party. We were there on the first night it began, which was Friday, October 3rd. This year, I assume it will begin on Friday, October 2nd. (It always starts about a week after Halloweentime season begins at DLR.) It is held mainly on Fridays and Saturdays, but, if I recall correctly, as it got closer to October 31st, a few more weekdays were added here and there. And then it ends after October 31st, I think. The TOTP began at 7:30 p.m., and lasted for a few hours.

Just to add to above, below is the info I saved from last years Halloween. I am in the process of planning our first trip to Disneyland so we can enjoy the Halloween activites this year.

Thanks, Sherry and Vanderpaw! I see from the schedule that certain days are not eligible for an AP discount. I'm wondering if I should wait until the tickets are available for purchase, so I can get an AP discount rate and *then* book my hotel.
