When do the Christmas decorations come down?

Need help with next years trip. I just got the kids school schedule for 2006-2007. Not what I was hoping for. The plan was to go 12/15-12/23 but the kids now don't get out of shcool until 12/22! We can't take them out of school before that because of finals. We would like to be able to see all the Christmas decorations but want to avoid the week between Christmas and New Year. Now we are considering either Thanksgiving week or 1/1-1/8. Any suggestions, keeping crowds and Christmas decorations in mind, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The theme parks had decorations through 1/8 and they came down that night. On Monday morning, the parks were Christmas-free. The resorts came down earlier.

We will be there Dec 30- Jan 6, I asked the same question about crowds and got widely varied comments! Some people said it was packed and comparable to summer, others said it was empty, barely any waits for rides. I think what it comes down to is planning very carefully. It seems on some days certain parks were packed while others were empty....now if I can just figure out which days they were!

Although I did not know about the Christmas decorations being up until the 8th! I'm very excited about that! We were there on our honeymoon 5 years ago right before Christmas and it was beautiful!
