When do the Canadian Deals come out?

Hi

Every year something usually comes out this time of year for Canadian deals for WDW trips...nothing yet...I wonder if we will see something within the next month?

Inga

I think it was November last year.

With all the dining packages released over the last while I don't think we will see anymore Canada specific deals it will be the same deal across the board for all of us.

Hi

That would be disappointing as there has been a Canadian deal every year...and we don't qualify for the meal deal as we are DVC owners and can't get the package as we already have a resort to stay at...

I was speaking to my CAA agent yesterday and she said that she hasn't heard anything yet but she'll know likely at the beginning of Oct. I'm hoping for the VISA at par again.

The Visa at Par deal was a package that included the room and the tickets at par. It was the Dream maker package (room + tickets at par). You needed a Visa to book it. We did it before, it was a good deal as it was rare to get a 25% discount on room and tickets (the exchange was bad at 75 cents).

We are travelling the first week in Dec this year and are holding out on purchasing tickets until we see if there is a deal. We are DVC members now...

I remember when the 7 day park hoppers were at par...

When we travelled in Nov before we had made a mistake of purchasing our tickets before the at par deal came out (I remember it was a big brew-ha-ha for many that happened across Canada and was discussed over this board). I think the deal had come out at different times across the country, and therefore folks had bought their tickets and some had gotten at par and others had not!

Oh the networking of DIS...

We were able to return our tickets to the Disney store at the time and get the at par tickets because of the pressure put on by this board!

I check the price on flights every day or two. Nothing good yet. I have my travel agent watching too.
We can't decide if we want to do WDW or DLand. Whatever has a better deal I guess! I haven't been to WDW, we were in California May 04. Right now California is about 1/2 the price of Florida though.
Just waiting for some tremedous deal to come!!

We have been to both DL and WDW, and they are different experiences for sure. WDW is like an entire region of parks, with much more to do than DL. IMHO I would encourage you to take the plunge and try WDW. DL is wonderful because it is the original, but WDW is so big that you could easily spend 2 weeks there and not see everything! I don't think that is the case with DL, we were able to see everything within 2-3 days, but that was before California Adventure...

I'm looking for any deals at all, if anyone finds out keep us posted! Even if a meal one comes out, I'd love to find it, I know that there were some out earlier but I missed them. Last year, we got the at par thing and it was great.

As for flights, I have found some great ones leaving from Buffalo, NY during the first week of November. If you check on the expedia.ca website, they are listed at $113 CDN each way at the moment. Living in Southern Ontario, I find this is the best way to go :)

Have you checked out the www.southwest.com web site? Maybe check out the web site and sing up for their DING fares. It is all explained on the web site. I missed out but some lucky Canadians were able to fly return this fall/early winter for less then $100 return US including taxes and fees. Also, besides DING, southwest sometimes offers systemwide sales as well as weekly sales (come out on Tuesday).

My dream would be for free dining to come out again for January. We have a $62US/per night CAA rate (plus tax) so if free dining was to come out we would only have to pay rack rate $77 plus tax and free dining would be a huge bonus. But IMHO, I am very satisfied with the CAA rate .

We're flying in Oct for $98 round trip and in Dec for $80 round trip on Southwest.

About the CAA rate... do you have to be a CAA member? And... do you know what their prices are like for Moderate WDW resorts?

You have to be a CAA member to get the CAA rate, I believe. It depends on the time of year (which of the 4 seasons value, regular, holiday, peak) and which resort category you are staying at. I think Disney has so many rooms available at each category at a CAA rate. The discounts vary between 10 and 20%, which isn't a ton but something anyway.

And I agree with the above poster. The Canadian $ is doing well right now, so that is something to factor in as well.

DisFan2...you hit it right on the head...this is coming from the family who paid $1.64 on the US dollar in 2002 (ouch :earseek: )...with the rate under $1.17  , I'm trying to pay for everything I can NOW.............that being said, I will be the first in line if there IS a Canadian deal (or any other deal :teeth: )

ps. If you book a CAA discount room, you are supposed to show your CAA membership card at check-in (although many have said they were never asked for it)

With us being DVC members we really don't look for room delas anymore heck we don't even take advantage of the DVC annual pass deal that is offered to us.
