When do teachers go to WDW?

I'd pick Spring Break over late august.

But the summer holidays work we have been many times in the summer holidays. Hot and crowded but still fun

We have also done the February holidays a couple of times, really nice time to go

I'm no longer a teacher, but still work in a school. We are going for our first trip this year mid-end August. We wanted to go for a bit longer than two weeks so the summer holidays was the only option open to us. It also seemed that the Disney accommodation prices were slightly cheaper in the 2nd half of August than Easter time and we had a bit more flexibility with what day of the week we could fly which can make a difference to flight prices.

WOW! I'm overwhelmed by the response disboarders.
I have felt like the weight of the world is on my shoulders trying to recreate past holidays and make this just as perfect.
We're looking at the last two weeks in August 2016...
Are the American children back in schools by then? Not that it matters! Our minds have been made now :cloud9:

Lots of the US schools start in mid-August so it tends to be a bit quieter. I love visiting in August but haven't dared take DH in that heat...

My OH is a teacher and we have been for half term week in October which was amazing for Halloween festivities - the crowds and weather were perfect! Would go back in a heartbeat.

And we have also done last 2 weeks in August for a longer break. It was busy to begin with, but crowds started to thin out towards the end - if you use FP / plan your time well, you'll be fine. Also we spent early mornings and late evenings in the parks and then chilled out in our hotel / pool when it was the hottest.

We're doing February next year so hoping it will be just as good!

I'm a teacher and I have been in my one week break in October and loved the F&WF although it was really quite cold most days (although I understand that's not always the case at this time of year). The prob with that however was that we felt that we'd spent just so much on flights as we would for a two week holiday and it was a lot of travelling to do in one week to then be back at school the day after landing if that makes sense? I was exhausted! This year we are going the weekend the summer holidays start 26/07-09/08 but only because we can't go at the end of august- I would say this would be my prefered time. I am still hoping that my school will start doing a two week break in October soon!

Good luck with the planning- I'm sure you will have a fantastic time whenever you go! The crowds will be thinning at the end of August so that sounds like a great option!

I am a teacher and was lucky enough to go for two weeks on October. I was a job-share and my colleague and I covered for each other. We are going again at the end of August. The prices are terrible and to add to that, we are a family of 5.

Someone on here needs to help me!
We have been to Florida 4 times before.... before children/maternity leave.
I am a teacher and both of my children are now in full time education.

Is it possible for us to go to Disney World at all. I'm at a loose end trying to work this out and I don't think it's possible!

As a teacher I CAN NOT go away during term time so already I'm only down to a few holiday dates.
APPROX
8-15TH FEBRUARY (We would like to go for 2 weeks, we always go for 2 and it never feels like enough!)
1-17TH APRIL (Spring Break... out of the question?)
23-30TH MAY (1 WEEK)
14TH JULY - 30TH AUGUST (Possibly thinking the last 2 weeks in Aug but the prices :( I could cry))
23-30TH OCT (1 WEEK)
20TH DEC - 2ND JAN (Too busy?)

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated, I am at my wit's end and ready to give up and just book Paris... and kid myself that the children won't notice the difference.
seen as the flight prices make up such a huge chunk of the cost can you not go aug and stay a bit longer ?? also next year some schools are back later on meaning if u can fly back in september some good flights may be found

we found our last 2 week aug pretty quiet, the toy story mania was longest que we saw all holiday
