Hello!

I will be heading to Disneyland with my family (husband and 3 young kids) from March 16-20. We are planning on spending 3 full days at the parks with park hopper passes, likely the 17th-19th. I'm wondering whether the peak spring break crowds will have started by then? I have heard that the busiest crowds are the week before and after Easter.

Touring Plans suggests crowds of 6 at DL and 9 at CA on the 17th, 5 at DL and 10 at CA on the 18th and 5 at DL and 8 at CA on Saturday the 19th. Are those realistic crowd levels for those dates? I would have thought the crowds would be busiest on Saturday the 19th. Any insight as to why the crowds at CA are predicted to be so much higher than at DL?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I'm no expert but I think those are definitely wrong. isitpacked.com has it as "yep, it's packed" every one of those dates. RMH Travel calendar has it as 7,8,9 on all dates in both parks. Again, I'm a novice but that's my opinion.

I would expect those dates to be busy.

We were there during SB this year and the crowds were heavy. If you have a plan you will be able to get everything done that you want to.

Have fun!!

Late February - Late April in general. With the week before & after Easter being the most busy.

Thanks for the replies!

The school schedule posted by texasgingerbread suggests the bulk of spring breaks start the week after we are there, so hopefully we won't have to deal with the worst of the worst crowds. We expected it would be busy in mid March, but are hoping it won't be insanely busy! Fingers crossed.

My district where I teach in the greater Phoenix area is off the week before yours, but the neighboring district where we live is off your week. My district tends to be early, so I think a lot of AZ schools will be off your week unfortunately. I think going expecting it to be pretty busy is a good strategy. Then if it isn't, you will be pleasantly surprised. And I also agree that the weeks surrounding Easter are probably worse!

March 17th is always a busy day at DLR. I expect crowds to start the week before with college breaks and increase from the 13th forwards as more colleges have their breaks and K-12 schools start to take their breaks.
