When do schools in your area go back from summer break?

Disney actually built Celebration! It started back in 1994, we have a nice downtown and great restaurants, you should visit the town on your stay have a wonderful trip!

Alabama Gulf Coast area here, we go back the week of Aug. 4. Seems like the southern schools start earlier, at least on this thread anyway!

Celebration WAS originally developed by Disney in the mid 90s as a planned community.

Oh, and most public schools in NC start back on August 25th. DD's school starts on the 11th.

I live in Pa, which is where my daughter goes to school, but am a HS Vice Principal in NJ. Both typically start right after Labor Day.

Before my son decide to do marching band we always went the last two weeks of August. We love going at that time because all the school in the south have already gone back to school. Hotels are cheaper then also.

Most of NC is required to start the Monday at/after August 24. State law is that they can't start earlier than that unless the county/school district has had more than a certain number of snow leave days averaged over the last several years.

Most Texas schools go back the week of Aug.25th. Keep in mind a lot of sports and band go back at the beginning of August. You will see lighter crowds. We have gone in August before, being from Texas we are used to the weather as it is very similar. 2 tips I can pass along is 1.make sure you have comfy shoes that dry quickly. We wear Tevas, keens, or crocs. Something that won't hold water and dry fast. The 2nd tip is drink LOTS of water! Aim for a glass an hour. People don't realize how much you will sweat with the humidity and sun. Water is free at every counter service. We make it a habit of getting a glass of water anytime we see a counter service, snack counter, etc with a short line. Best of luck!

As has been pointed out, easywdw has your days rated at 6s and then 4s. The crowds you were reading about for spring break were 8s and 9s according to easywdw. That site is very accurate with overall crowd levels, so rest easy, your August trip will not be as busy as spring break.

Hey thanks for the tips I'm so excited! I'll make sure we all keep hydrated and hopefully we'll be able to take breaks in the afternoons to avoid the heat!

Hi thanks for the reply! So good to hear it will be a bit less busy than what I'm seeing at the moment! I'm sure we will have a great trip no matter how busy it is but it will be a bonus to not have queues as big as the ones I've been seeing on the app lately
