When will the rates for Jan 2009 come out? We used to go to Disney every year, but when the prices started going up so much & discounts were getting less and less we skipped a year! But planning to go Jan 2009 but have been out of the loop for a while! Any "new" info would be appreciated!

Thanks :dance3:

I believe the prices for 2009 will be coming out around the middle of August...however if you want to reserve your room for the dates, you can call and make a room only reservation at the 2008 rate and when the 2009 rates are released, they will update the reservation with those prices. Hope this helps! :)

If you make a room only reservation they will charge you a deposit of one night at 2008 PEAK rates for your resort. It will be adjusted after the 09 rates are released. Just wanted to warn you so you didn't get sticker shock.

We made a reservation (by phone) for POR in January, 2009, for room only. They quoted us the 2008 rate, and charged one night's cost to our credit card for deposit. They said the 2009 rates will be published in August. They said if the rates go (which I'm sure they probably will), we will be advised of the price difference.

For the last two years, the rates have come out on or about August 15th.

Like the previous posters have said, you can book a room only reservation now. You will be quoted a rate at the 2008 levels. You will be required to pay a deposit equal to your first night's stay plus taxes.

Once the 2009 rates come ut, you have two options:

1) Keep the room only reservation and let Disney adjust your rates accordingly to the 2009 rates. If this is your choice, you will not be required to do anything else but pay off your balance upon check in.

2) Call Disney reservations and tell them you have a room only reservation but now want to book a package. I would suggest that you have all of your information written down as far as what you want in your package....type of room, type of tickets and whether or not you want the dining plan.

At that point, Disney will cancel your room only reservation and make the request that you be refunded your room only deposit. They can not use this deposit towards your package deposit.

Once the package is booked, you will be required to pay a deposit of $200.00 (that's what it has been for the last two years) within fourteen days of the day your book your package. From that point on, you can make payments on your package as many times as you wish. The only requirement is your payment must be at least $20.00 and you musth have your package paid for by 45 days from the date of your arrival.

I made over 50 payments on my vacation package before paying it off. I loved it because it was like having a vacation on layaway!
