When do kids head back to school after Christmas break

We are looking to go to WDW after the Christmas/New Years crowds have thinned out in January 2006 and I was wondering when do most of the schools startup after the holiday break. There was another thread about schools starting up after summer break and someone mentioned that their Florida school did not go back until January 5. I was surprised it was that late - assumed they would go back the day after New Years.

Was hoping some of you would post your school's schedule. Thanks.

Here in Atlana we get out Dec 23rd and go back I think Mon the 10th??

I have thought about going down after new years.

Here in Michigan, most of the schools will return around January 3.

Our school district is out Dec 21 - Jan 2 for Christmas Break for the 05-06 school year.

Our break is similar to what debbiedoo reports. the kids have a half day on Dec 23rd and return to school on Monday Jan 9.

I am in MIchigan, so it will be January 2, which is a monday.

My daughter starts college in the fall tho, so she does not return till the 9th

Does anybody else know their school's dates? Still can't decide whether to go before Christmas or after New Years. Really like to go when the crowds are low. Thanks for any information.
