When do FL schools start in the fall?

Most schools start 2 weeks before Labor Day. This was the first school year that was in effect with the new law. We aren't allowed to start any earlier than that. Next school year we start August 24

Just checked the calendar from Brevard County and school starts August 10????? Did they change the law about 2 weeks from Labor Day already? We must be going back to the semester break and midterms before Christmas here.

Seems pointless to start that early when they have to use the schools as shelters so often in August and around Labor Day.
