When Do Disney Dining Plan Credits Expire?

We have a trip planned for later in the month and currently do not have the Dining Plan. If we add it, does it expire the day we check out? I am asking because we may add a few more days at another resort that isn't eligible for the plan and it would be nice (in a perfect world!) to spread the meals out instead of trying to cram them all in during the time we are at the Disney resort. I think I know what the answer is...but it never hurts to ask, right?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your dining credits expire at midnight the day you check out of your resort. We still enjoyed the dining plan very much, and will plan to pay for it for our family of 6 on our next vacation to the World. Good luck deciding!!

From what I was told, they expire at mid-night on the day you check out.
