When Do Campers Decorate for Halloween?

I've been spending tons of time just looking at this forum (My house is a MESS!) and I love all of the Halloween decorations. Are these usually only put up for October 31? We'll be there 10/9-17.

Thanks!

Jennifer

We've never been there @ Halloween when we weren't there ON Halloween and I was wondering the same thing. We're in a cabin this time around and we're going to bring a couple of things.... I'm also looking for some spookies for the GC.

Thanks, we arrive on the 9th and I'd love to see Ft. Wilderness all decked out. We won't be decorating unless LSU stuff counts ;)

The MK is already decorated for Halloween, so why not??

We were there last September and decorated and this year we're arriving early Oct and already have the stuff in the RV.

I wish we had room for decorations. Two weeks in a truck camper doesn't leave much room for "extras" though.

LSU plays UF on October 9!

You may want to not put up that ugly LSU stuff, as you will probably want to take it down after the game.

Just sayin':rolleyes1

Actually, bring your LSU stuff.

There is a regular who you can't miss on the 100 loop who will have plenty of LSU and Halloween decorations up.

Saints stuff to.

Right, Feisty? :thumbsup2

But, remember . . .

LSU is Gator Bait!

BF and I will be decorating our Tent site!! I am looking forward to seeing everyone's decorations! :earsgirl:

People put out their decorations as soon as MNSSHP starts in Sept.

I am so happy to hear this! We will be arriving on the 18th and I was wondering if that was too early to decorate. We do it big time at home, and I wanted to bring a little with us, especially since we are doing the MMNSSHP on the 23rd. pirate:

I have already been digging in the halloween boxes in the attic determining what I can bring that won't take up so much space and would be Disney appropriate. My DD was so excited about using the Halloween lights in place of the regular camp lights, she thinks they are 'cool'. :3dglasses I am thinking a green eared pumpkin with Musket Mickey carved in will work just nice, too. Two birds, one stone with that one! :woohoo:

I purchased so many items after Halloween from Walgreens. I honestly think I visited at least 12 different locations in the area where I live. They have a large selection of Disney Themed lights, pumpkins, decals, kid coloring books - etc.. there! People also decorate there Golf Carts as well!

Well, I guess I'll just have to make up some gator sauce piquant for everyone ;) We're planning on doing our own tailgating in Ft. Wilderness. The LSU decorations and Saints stuff are already packed! After last week's game I think he's leaning toward the Saints.

A few years back I had one of those car flags from the LSU 2007 National Championship. I use them so I can find my car (Can you get any more generic than with a gray Camry?) but some person(Not naming any names here!) broke it while I was parked in the Epcot lot.

Geaux Tigers!

Good for you.

I have to say that I find LSU fans to be some of the funnest, and for whatever reason, LSU is always well represented at the Fort. So bring on the tailgating, and good luck.

I wish I could be at the Fort that day for all of the fun, but hopefully I will be a little further north watching the game in person! :thumbsup2

And since we are talking football, here's a little LSU/Gator story for you from one of my previous Fort adventures (circa 2007):

OK, so let me share a funny story (well, I think that it's funny any way) with you about something that happened to us last Saturday at the Fort.

I think that Gatordad will like this story, and maybe a few others as well.

First, some background. I am a graduate of UF, my DW is an FSU Seminole. Yes, a mixed marriage. My DD's are half-breeds (the shame). All of the DW's family are Seminoles from way back. How far back? My DW's great-grandmother attended FSU when it was an all girls school. Is that far enough back?

Anyway, that brings us up to Saturday, November 24th. It is time for the annual meeting of UF and FSU. A big deal to all Floridians, and especially to Gators and Seminoles.

On this day, I find myself at the Fort with two of my DD's and a niece. One of my DD's wants to be favored in my will (she's the smart one), so she bleeds Orange and Blue. My other DD and my niece are Noles. So, the girls come up with the idea of decorating the golf cart for the big game. Here is what they came up with:

Now, all week, there has been an LSU fan displaying an inflatable Tiger on his spot in the 100 loop. One day earlier in the week, we see that someone has written "UF" in block letters on a paper towel, and taped it on the tiger. Funny, but UF fans can't say anything to LSU this year (but wait till next year!). The paper towel disappeared some time that day, and the tiger kept on gloating (this was before Friday's Arkansas game). Anyway, that paper towel gives the girls an idea, so we pay a visit to the tiger on Saturday:

Wait a minute, did somebody paste another sign on the tiger? Those rotten hooligans! What does it say? Let's take a closer look:

Now, who did that? ;) That is not very nice!

So, we watch the game. The FSU fans in our group are subdued. The MK is open to midnight, so we drive down to the marina, hop on the boat, and head over. We close down the park, and return to the golf cart parking area just after midnight. And ...... find ...... that our cart has been vandalized! Desecrated! We have been punked! The outrage! The horror! See for your self:

Notice the block letters on the paper towels. These bitter LSU fans had held on to that paper towel (which I swear we had nothing to do with) (notice I am not swearing about the Arkansas sign), and they come an try to insult us with it! Oh, they are going to pay!

So, we head back to the campsite. What can we do?

Here is what the girls came up with:

So, the LSU fans got their paper towel back taped to their front door (the tiger was now put away for some reason), with a personal message from Tim Tebow (that will be worth money some day).

That's all I'm going to say about this whole episode.

How fun! Hubby is a bit of a fanatic but I really enjoy the tailgating and things more than the actual game! I guess we'll bring both Saints and LSU and just go with the flow. You will need a ladder to reach the flag thing on our trailer ;)

We too are a house divided. My dad played for Ole Miss. We stayed far, far, far away from Daddy last weekend.

The Mickey lamppost thread has peaked hubby's love of a project. I think we may have one of those too. No Halloween but we should be gaudy enough.
