the room itself? My daughter/son in law are going to BCV September and sharing a 2BR with friends from Ireland. It would be convenient if "our" family and the Irish family could have separate bills, but I don't know if this is possible. Any suggestions besides one of the two using cash/credit cards and the other using room charge?

TIA, Jean and Bob

Not sure if you can do this or not. Why not just have each party use their CC and not bother with charging to the room. It still ends up on a CC at the end of the stay.

If you allow charging privileges on the room keys, all charges will be applied to the card provided at check-in (they will accept only 1 card at that time).

Hoewver, just go to the desk at checkout and get the itemized bill- each room id has a unique number and the bill can easily be separated into accounts (the front desk will assist with this) and then you can pay each account however you'd like. The initial credit card supplied is just to safeguard the system, but the final bill may be paid in whatever fashion you'd like - even cash! If each family wants to pay their portion on a credit card, it can easily be accomplished.

Enjoy!

I asked my DVC guide this question. One thing that can be done is that each family has their own "charge card" (I don't recall what they're actually called) for charges in the parks, restaurants, etc. Their charges would be billed to the credit card that they specify.

As for things like room charges (phone, etc.) I'm not sure how it works.

You can only have one card on the room key. My BIL tried to get his on at OKW in Jan when he stayed with us. We checked this right away and found he had been charged all our purchases that we made before he got there. We had to take them off room charging and they just used their credit card.

Otherwise, you can use one card and then on the day before you leave, get a copy of the bill and look it over by room key number. Then get all the purchases from the other room's keys charged over at one time to a different credit card.

Interesting! I'll have to remember that. Thanks!

I agree with above but you could get a lockoff and have the 1 BR and studio separate and then have separate charges. Since that's more points and there's no guarantee they'd be attached, it'd be quite a risk and aggravation to do so. I'd think the best thing is to simply have you're family put the charge card and have charging. Then have your friends have non charging cards and just use their own CC when needed. That way there's no question about it. The only other issue would be if ether were charges sent directly to the room like phone calls or towel charges. Even then, you could use the method Doc mentioned about splitting the charges if needed.
