When did you stop doing Easter Baskets?

My mother still makes a basket for each of her 5 "kids". I'm 30 and the youngest. She includes candy she knows we love and our spouses' favorites.
And she makes individual baskets for each of her 10 grandkids.

I think (hope) when my son gets married that we'll just do a nice Easter Brunch together. And when they have their own kids my son & his wife will have the honor of the baskets. I'd rather give my future grand kids money for their college and tickets to a family event like CJ Barrymore or something like that and offer to have brunch at my house. I don't want to take away all the fun from my future DIL.

My mom did Easter baskets for my brothers and I until we had kids of our own. :)

I stopped filling individual baskets a couple years ago. My kids are 13,16 & 19. I do give them some candy every year though. This year I found some insulated water bottles pretty cheap so they will each get one of those filled with candy.

I get an Easter basket from my mom, and I am 44. It's just candy. Nothing fancy. She also makes one for each of her four grandchildren.

My oldest is 21 and still gets an easter basket. His has a blu-ray movie he expressed an interest in, some gift cards and his favorite candy's in it - this year it's technically an easter bag. I will be sending it to him tomorrow - he's at college. I'd rather he get it early.

My DD gets something similar based on what she likes.

I plan on making an Easter basket until they leave home unless they ask me to stop. My kids are still young (7 and 4) and are not big fans of chocolate so they get a Lindt bunny and some Playmobil eggs. My oldest doesn't believe in the Easter bunny anymore so this year will be the first year she doesn't have friends over for her annual egg hunt. Instead, she will help me with her sister's hunt.

This year. The boy has moved out on his own, and both kids informed me that it was time for the baskets to stop.

I won't lie... I'm going to miss this tradition! I'll probably still give them both something small (like an Easter themed tea for my daughter (21) or some specialty hot sauce for my son (19), since neither of them like chocolate bunnies).

Geez, what did you put in the baskets? Rotten eggs? lol My oldest is 27 year old university student and he still gets one. We are making an 8 hour round trip to deliver my middle child daughter's basket and dinner to her university dorm on Easter Saturday or Sunday. She can't wait. She will be in the middle of exams and appreciate the gesture greatly.

We do baskets (buckets?) for our 16 and 13 yo. No plans to stop. I don't put eggs in them anymore, just candy and whatever they might want--xbox card, shoes, etc.

MIL still does baskets for all of us. The couples get a basket to share (she gets whatever candy we each like, a chocolate bunny for each of us, usually a gift card or something small), the grandkids get their own baskets.

My sister and I still get them and we are 47 and 36 respectively. My mom enjoys doing it.

My daughter is 16 and not into chocolate so she doesn't really get a basket anymore. This year, she's getting a bag of mini eggs, a few boxes of gum, and a dark chocolate basket.

Not singling anyone out, but I don't see how giving someone toiletries or clothes qualifies as a gift. Maybe if they don't get it any other time of the year I could see it but if my daughter needs deodorant I'm not going to pass it off as a present.

I am 44 and get a card from my mom with a check but I host and figure it's to contribute to the grocery costs.
My kids are 18, 18 and 20. I have been, for a couple yeas now, giving them a $15 gift card, either to movies or for something like Starbucks or Panera, and a few candy items they really like (like a bag of starburst jelly beans ad some other stuff). Like $10 worth of candy each kid. My kids are candy lovers though. I do feel like this will be the last year. They will all be in college next year so no more.

My mom and I used to make baskets for each other until she passed away...

I'm really missing that tradition this year.

I've put toothpaste and a tooth brush in their basket since birth. It offsets the candy. Lol. When they were younger they loved their new motorized cartoon character toothbrush. Now it's just tradition.

My kids love getting clothes as gifts.

My mother is 77 and she will be getting a visit from the Easter Bunny as will my best friend (55) this coming weekend because we will be on vacation together. then the Tuesday after Easter my best friend will get another one from the Easter Bunny as well her adult step son.............well, because we will be on vacation then too! I feel pretty sure that Mr Hippity Hoppity will bring me some surprises this weekend too..........we are all pretty spoiled I would say!

Easter is not a gift-giving occasion at our house. We never did a basket for DS. All the treats are shared amongst us as part of our celebration.
